At Rosalie Hall, we feel sadness, hurt and frustration over the senseless acts of violence that continue to result in the deaths of Black people in our society. We acknowledge the pain that is associated with these events and recognize that these deaths have occurred as a result of systemic racism and discrimination. It is a loss of promise, potential and the future. Children, youth, families and communities are traumatized by these pervasive acts. This is not okay. it is no...t acceptable and we stand together with our Black clients, staff and colleagues to seek true, lasting systemic change. We want you to know that at Rosalie Hall, Black Lives Matter and as an agency, we are saying, "Enough is enough!". We are affirming our commitment to speak out against injustices toward Black people. We know we have much to learn. We are listening and want to learn from those that know better. We know that a statement is not enough, we want a plan of action. We are committed to open and honest conversation, new education courses, provision of a safe and supportive space for all and to help shoulder the responsibility for equity and inclusion. Conversations have started in the agency with the clients that we continue to serve. There have been discussions of bias, racism, and the young women have shared their feelings about what they are seeing on social media and the experiences in their lives. They have started to consider what this means for their children and to understand that children as young as 6 months of age see Race. This is the beginning, please feel free to be part of this conversation and your assistance in helping us shape our experience at Rosalie Hall is valued. We are in this together and we must support one another. Please in this time of stress and sadness, take care of yourself and each other.
