Rose Street Atelier 22.12.2020

Looking back at this commission I did last year for a family in town. This waterfall on Gull Island in Newfoundland- Labrador, is a spot they’ve returned to a number of times on family trips, and they wanted to capture their love for it in their home. I was so honoured to be asked and it was a fun challenge to create the waterfall effect. take me there now! Check out my updated highlights titled Commissions with details about the commission process! Contact me if you ha...ve any questions. I have 2 or 3 spots left (depending on size) this year if you wish to gift someone a landscape painting or if you have ideas, I’d love to hear about them. Happy Thursday!

New year is for new beginnings! Watch my stories and highlights for a new painting! I’ve been looking at a certain photo of the first flowers of spring last year and Snow Drops have been my screen saver ever since! I am inlove with them. I’ve had a canvas put aside for this paintingand even had a frame made. No plans for a collection with this, as I plan to focus on landscapes and beaches this year, but I need to do this up-close and personal painting of beautiful Snow Drops to feed my soul. Hope for the soul, hope for us all.

Sketching one or two drawings is a part of my commission process. And I’ve been using watercolour as a quick way to showcase all the elements. It’s not my usual medium but I’m loving it! Check out some of my sketches so far. If you have a landscape painting in mind, get in touch with me and we can go over some details! My commission submissions are open from July this year onward. So if you have an idea for a gift later this year or possibly Christmas ( can’t believe I’m t...alking about Christmas again!) then I’d love to chat! Or if you have a wall that is screaming for a custom art piece, I would love to explore what you’d like to have in your home. Also, check out my portfolio (link below) for a few select final pieces https://www.rosestreetatelier.com/portfolio

My word of the year Energy is an all encompassing word for being a mother and a small business owner. I don’t know how a lot women do it. But I will do all that I can, listening to my body as best as I can and be there for my family. I want to keep running after my little girls in the backyard for as long as they want me to I’ve hit a couple periods of burn out but have come out of them still feeling inspired. So I will keep at it! Just pacing myself. It’s thanks to ha...ving comissions this year that I can plan my work load around them, and still release a couple collections. Looking forward to sharing with you all! Also, this is dedicated to all @thestudiosource artists in residence and the two fantastic women who lead the group @suiteonestudio and @alliedattilio. Your guidance and words of wisdom are priceless. Thank you! I’m so happy to be a lifetime member to The Studio Source. #thestudiosource

As a young boy, my husband’s grand father climbed this silo and would say he wouldn’t come down until he was promised he didn’t need to go back to school. Years later, his memory is still standing strong just like this silo. Funny stories like these, but more importantly loving memories and witness to an ever growing family. Can’t wait for the next Simpson family reunion! Thank you for all your heartfelt comments about my latest blog post.
