Your Donations Hard at Work ... On behalf of the Camrose Public Library Board and Staff, please allow me to once again thank the Rotary Club of Camrose Daybreak for your generous donation. This Club provided us with a cheque covering the cost for one computer desk back in February 2020, but unfortunately this purchase was delayed due to COVID. However, we have finally been able to purchase four of these desks with the help of Rotary’s donation, and they look fantastic in our... children’s space downstairs! They are extremely sturdy, and will provide kids with a place to play games with their friends for many years (even if they are socially distant for the moment). Thanks so much again! We are so grateful for the support! Robyn Gray, MLIS Director, Camrose Public Library

Our guest speaker on Nov 17th was Brendan McKinstry, a member of the Camrose Disc Golf Club. He made a presentation to City Council on Septermber 21, proposing a 9-hole disc golf course for Jubilee Park. Disc golf is a fast-growing sport played by all ages and levels of skill. Played similar to regular golf, players attempt to throw a disc (Frisbee like) in a series of throws from a tee to lodge it in a basket (the hole). Courses range from family-oriented courses, usually 9 short holes 150 to 200 feet long, to professional courses, usually 18 longer holes 300 to 500 feet long. Equipment ranges from a promotional disc from your favorite store to a variety of discs used depending on distance of the throw.
