We know that many Rotarians in our district have been thinking about their role in systemic racism and many of you have probably asked yourself the following qu...estion - how can we counter anti-Black racism as Rotarians? The District 7820 Anti-Systemic Racism Task Force is putting together a resource guide and coaching plan to help Rotarians tackle this question. Today, we are introducing the backbone of this plan - The Fours As. Through Acknowledgement, Awareness, Assessment, and Action, we can come together and fight anti-Black racism. The full resource guide and coaching plan will be released in the coming months.
We are happy to announce that our Annual Fundraising Campaign has begun! The Rotary Club of Halifax was founded in 1913 and since then, we have been working hard to improve the lives of those living in our community and around the world. Our projects range from local volunteerism to global collaborations and we couldn't do any of this amazing work without our supporters! We hope that you will consider participating in our campaign so that we can continue this important work. Send us a message to learn more or to get your ticket!
Following the murder of George Floyd on May 25th 2020, District 7820 formed the Anti-Systemic Racism Task Force. With the support of our district leaders, the t...ask force has been working towards creating an awareness campaign and coaching plan that Rotarians can use to combat anti-Black racism in their communities and beyond. Today we are releasing our mission statement and a modified 4-Way Test - the first in a long line of tools that the task force has created to help Rotarians bring awareness and change to this issue. We believe that, together, we can build a path forward where Rotary and its projects are beneficial to all. See more
