Wondering what you are looking at? This is a photo of the retina taken by our OCT/Camera machine. We are one of the very few optometric offices in the area that have this valuable piece of machinery. This machine can take a detailed, digital photo of the retina which helps the doctor detect and monitor eye disease such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. It also helps monitor signs of general health problems like high blood pressure and diabetes. ... Every patient that is seen by Dr. Shore will have this photo taken and kept on record to monitor for changes in retinal health.

Introducing our optometrist, Dr. Ethan Shore. Ethan is a native of Aurora, Ontario, just half an hour north of Toronto. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Guelph in 2013. He then went to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At graduation in 2017, he was given the Blanchard Contact Lens Award. Since then Dr. Shore moved to Atlantic Canada and has been practicing in Amherst, NS for the past 3 years. Ethan is excited to join the rest of his family in the Saint John area and provide eye care for patients of all ages. In his spare time, Ethan enjoys being on the golf course, on the rink and spending time with his family. Book with Dr. Shore today, 849-3188.
