Looking forward to taking the staff to the Markham Theatre on Sunday March 24 to see Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre. A former Russian circus star who rescues cats and dogs from shelters and then trains them to put on a very heartwarming show. It is fun for the whole family. This will be our third time seeing this.
Nala's excited to be getting her 2nd booster today. She loves going to Rouge River Animal Hospital.
Some cuteness for Saturday. Meet Charlotte
This is Katherine, our RVT, with Shay the Sheltie and Michelle. Shay has eaten t/d, j/d and Metabolic and we have to say Metabolic is the best weight loss diet! As Shay is now 13, he has kept the weight off, which is great for his back and joints. Michelle has eaten t/d since she was adopted, and, combined with her good genes, t/d has kept her teeth in tip-top shape - at 13 she has never had a COHAT! The size of the kibble is great for making her chew and scrub her teeth! She loves it!
A great frozen home made treat for all canines. Yummy.
On April 3 the province made revisons On April 3 the province made revisions to the list of essential services in Ontario. Veterinary medicine still remains on that list but only urgent care cases. Urgent care includes providing veterinary care for illnesses or injuries which require prompt or emergency attention. Of course we will be asking if there is any recent travel history, any signs of respiratory illness or any history of a gathering. This does not include electiv...e procedures that will not impact the pet’s immediate health. Preventive medicine may be necessary in specific cases that may have long term animal and public health impact such as rabies vaccination. Our licensing body, College of Veterinarians of Ontario expects veterinarians to follow the government directive and use their judgement in delivering urgent care only at this time of public health emergency. Ancillary services such as grooming, bathing and nail trimming should be discontinued. Routine health care will be postponed. The College continues to monitor this changing situation providing updates. The staff at Rouge River Animal Hospital are committed to providing veterinary care for you and your pets. While we remain open we can offer telephone consultations and advice for your pet but are required to lock our door and only provide curbside service. Please call us in advance to order any medication refills, food orders or other products. This includes heartworm/flea /tick preventives given the warmer outdoor temperatures. These can be paid over the telephone once you arrive at the hospital and the products can be brought directly to you at your vehicle or left just outside our door. Our modified hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm Saturday 9am to 1pm and Sunday 12-1pm. We hope that you and your pet(s) remain healthy throughout this most challenging time and please know that we are committed to their care.
Milo is snuggling up to his new Kong Llama toy that we have for sale at the hospital. Maybe your feline would like a new toy as well!
