Jones the Cat was abandoned by her owners and left to fend for herself; she was found in a kitched cupboard curled up, frightened and starving. She was taken to a veterinarian on October 17, 2020 where they diagnosed her with stage 4 Periodontal Disease, requiring the removal or all her teeth. During the vet visit Jones was prescribed pain killers enabling her to eat so she could gain some weight back, however, due to the pain she will only eat after having been administered the medicine. Local animal shelters were contacted because of the medical attention Jones requires, unfortunately, none of the shelters are accepting cats at this time. Jones was found by one of my clients, whom is out of work and currently receiving assisted living and financially cannot afford the surgery Jones needs. The procedure (removal of all teeth) is estimated to cost $1,987.93 or Jones will need to be euthanized. My client and Jones have developed a loving bond and they both rely on one another for either physical or mental well-being. The amount we are asking for is $2000 to cover the surgery and follow-up. Since being rescued, Jones has gained some weight back and is showing her playful side (please see second picture) but is still in lots of pain.
