Tech Tip!!! In the fall and spring when you check your smoke detector batteries, remember to turn your washer, dishwasher and fridge water taps on and off so they don't cease up. This can save you a costly plumber bill if ever need to service or replace your appliances.

Just letting everyone know that we are almost caught up on the Covid caused backlog. Things are still taking a little longer than normal due to the safety precautions we are taking to prevent the spread of the virus but most calls are now being scheduled for the following week. If you are expecting a technician please wipe down any surfaces he may come in contact with before he gets there, let him in the closest door to the appliance being serviced and please remember to social distance. I am happy to say that we are now open again for in-home service, both in our Orangeville location and in our Port Severn location !! However there is a 2-3 week 'waiting list' back log in the Orangeville area that we have to get through before booking new Orangeville area calls. If you need service give us a call and we will try to fit you in as soon as possible but please be patient as each call is going to take a little longer now as we have to allow time for sanitizing... procedures etc. We are asking our customers to please sanitize the area the technician will be working in prior to his arrival, have him come in the door closest to the appliance he is working on and remember to respect social distancing guidelines. For your safety and his, Jim will wear a clean mask and new gloves in every home, (as long as it is a repair that can be done using gloves) and he will sanitize inbetween customers. I just wanted to touch base with our customers and give you another update. It's looks like the curve is flattening but we still think it would be best if we didn't resume in-home service quite yet. With many businesses opening up next week we are afraid that the virus may begin spreading again and the last thing we want to do is pick up, carry and/or spread it from house to house and be a part of the 'problem' as our technician visits 10 or more houses per day. We are hoping... to resume in home-service when/if the Emergency Order is lifted on June 2nd. In the meantime we are still available for part orders (paid by credit card/e-transfer and shipped directly to your door) and we will gladly give you the free advice you need to diagnose and instal them on your own. Over the last month we have supplied many parts and helped our customers to repair their own appliances! You can also pre-book your repairs and I will call you with an appointment as soon as we resume in home service, just give us the details so we can do our best to have the parts that you need on hand before we come out for service. We will be asking our customers to maintain social distancing and to allow the tech to enter through the door that is closest to the appliance being repaired. We are hoping that in the very near future we will be able to begin in-home service again but it will only be for essential repairs. (i.e. non cooling refrigerators and freezers, stoves with no heat and most laundry issues) You can also pre-book any non-essential repairs for when they are allowed again. I wish I didn't to have to write this post but due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in our area we have decided to suspend all in home service until April 18th or later. We have only been doing essential repairs the last couple weeks, i.e. fridges/freezers and washers - "repairs to maintain sanitation and essential operations of residential properties" - but now feel it would be better if we didn't go from house to house coming in contact with and/or spreading anything. We will still be available by phone to source parts for you and give advice to help you do the repair yourself. Many, many repairs can at least be done temporarily by the home owner. So we are on Ford’s list as an essential service so we will be remaining open to service your appliances, however we will only come out for service if it is urgent. Otherwise we can troubleshoot over the phone, order the parts you need and come out for service at a safer time. We also are open for parts sales and advice if you would like to do the repair yourself. You can pay by credit card or e-transfer and pick up the parts in our pickup room without any person to person contact. Thanks for understanding!

Just dropped off all the food our customers donated last week at The Orangeville Food Bank. Thanks again everyone!!!

This is what we collected from our customers over the week !! There are also a few more donations that people will be putting in the grocery store collection bins themselves. We will be donating $250 as well so the Food Bank can buy needed perishable foods for the hampers. Way to go Orangeville!!!

Thanks so much to all our customers, the donations are still coming in!! I will post a picture of it all before it's given to the Food Bank. I just wanted to let everyone know that after today we will only be doing "Essential Appliance Repairs". Our technician is using lysol wipes and hand sanitizer between service calls and hand washing when ever possible. We are trying to do our part but know you need your appliances to be working i.e. fridges, freezers, stoves and laundr...y. For things such as 1 out of 4 stove burners not working or a broken ice maker, we can just trouble shoot over the phone , order parts and have them ready to instal when the green light is given. We are also still taking part orders if you want to fix your own appliances. We have a self serve pickup room that doesn't require person to person contact. Just call, email or message with your order and we will put it out for you to pick up. And if possible E-transfer or credit card over the phone are probably the best forms of payment right now, makes social distancing easier.
