Who loves holidays?? I LOVE holidays! I try to get all of my work done during the week so I can hang with the hubs, my family and friends on Saturdays and Sundays! However, I still check into my groups because, well, you all ARE my family too! An extra day is BONUS!! Drop a below if you’re celebrating National Pizza Day today! I know we sure are at our house...we’re committed like that! I used to think that pizza was a guilty cheat meal that I shouldn’t eat and if I did I’d have to go run like 8 miles to burn off the calories. ... Anybody else think that too?? It wasn’t until I dove into my nutrition program and realized that I can actually make a few small tweaks and make pizza a healthy option. And when I want to indulge on the good (not so healthy stuff)...it’s OK! SAY WHAT?? Here are some of our family-favorite tips for healthifying pizza! Use a flatbread or whole wheat tortilla as your crust. Look for pizza sauces with 8g of sugar or less per serving. Use a good, melty plant based cheese and portion out cup for your serving. Load it up with veggies like peppers, onions, mushrooms etc. Go wild! Add some protein with beef, ham, chicken, or a plant based sustitute Serve a big salad on the side to fill up your plate. Do you ever come home from work and just plop down on the couch absolutely EXHAUSTED from the day? Listen to this story told to me by a fiend..."I was workiing 8 hours a day for someone else’s dream while someone else was raising my babies only to come home and rush around to cook dinner, do homework, chores, and bedtime. Shouldn’t this be a relaxing family time?? And I’ll be honest...I HATED IT. I felt like I was on a hamster wheel spi...nning out of control. All I wanted was for life to slooowww down. I wanted to enjoy my days and my family." She made a commitment to herself and her family. She didn’t want this to be her forever so she started her coaching business with FULL intentions on quitting her job and coming home to be with them full-time. She said, When I can match my salary for 6 months straight, I'm done. And guess what you guys...she did the damn thing! It was hard, she made sacrifices, she failed, got back up, and tried again. 3 years later, she can proudly say that she's been a full-time coach and work at home mama for 9 months now. Growing up, I was always a true independent. I didn’t need anyone to hold my hand to go to the bathroom or play with me...I would take off by myself and go explore in the ditches or read in my room When I got older, I had this same attitudeI got this! I don’t need anybody! Then I got slapped in the face by the I can’t stick to a damn workout to save my life stick. ... I tried going to the gym, tried the classes, heck I even bought a gym membership thinking fancier equipment would do the trick. NOPE The common denominator here? Nowhere that I went did anyone give a crap if I showed up. They weren’t calling or texting at 5:30 am when I didn’t show up to HIIT class or to my weights session. It wasn’t until I had someone checking in with me daily that I finally was held accountable to the goals I set. And I felt so much better knowing that my trainer cared about my goals and progress. THAT was the game-changer. BuuuTtt was also SUPER expensive! I had to find something cheaper. And someone who still cared. AND I DID!!!! That was one of the biggest motivators for me and one of the reasons I became an online fitness coach.....so that I could be that person for others. Plus, if you want some REAL accountability...become a coach and have people watching you and counting on you...TRUST AND BELIEVE that you’ll want to show up.
