Reminder to everyone : While we understand people's desire to observe Remembrance Day at your local Cenotaph's, we want everyone to be safe. While there will be Legion members at the Cenotaph on November 11th, we respectfully ask that anyone who does come out that they wear a mask and keep socially distanced. We are pre placing the wreaths this year and ask anyone who has a wreath they wish to place not already done so by us, to wait until the Service is over to do so. If so...meone is before you, please respect social distance guidelines and wait until they are done before approaching with yours. As always, your support and understanding during these unprecented times is greatly appreciated.

RCL Poppy Campaign October 30th to November 11th 2020 Shubenacadie Branch 111, NS This year’s Campaign will be a bit different due to the NS Public Health Restrictions and Guidelines set out by Dominion and Provincial Command of the Royal Canadian Legion.... On Wednesday, November 11th there will be a service with a small contingent of Legion members at the Shubenacadie Cenotaph with wreaths for our Fallen Comrades pre-placed by the Legion. Masks are mandatory and social distancing will be respected. There will not be any reception after the Service or a banquet that night. If you wish to buy a wreath in memory of a Veteran you may certainly do so, BUT we ask that you place it at your loved one’s grave or at the Cenotaph after the Remembrance Service is done on November 11th unless you have already made arrangements with the Legion for us to place it for you. If someone is at the Cenotaph when you arrive, please respect social distancing as set out by Public Health guidelines. Note: The price of a wreath is used to cover the cost of the wreath only; a very small portion actually goes to the Poppy Trust Fund. We understand this has been a challenging year for many families due to the Covid-19 pandemic and financial struggles are a very real concern. If you are able and wish to support the RCL Poppy Trust Fund, you may do so by contacting Bob Smith at 902 499 9838 . We hope to have Poppy Trays throughout the community at local businesses where they feel comfortable doing so within the Public Health guidelines and we still will be placing flags at the veteran’s graves as in previous years.
