Suspension of League Play and Plastic Face Masks/Shields We have received an update on Permitted Activities at Liquor Licensed Premises from the Executive Director of Alcohol, Gaming, Fuel and Tobacco here in the Province dated Friday, 30 October. It states that Leagues (Darts, Pool or Cards) are viewed as being comparable to tournaments which are not permitted in the Health Protection Order. As a result we must adhere to the Provincial Directives and suspend our Leagues ef...fective immediately. If there is a change to or easing of the Provincial Health Protection Order we will advise you soonest. Darts and Pool may be played at liquor licensed establishments but the players are to be limited to people who are in the same household or close social group (of 10 or less) that have entered the establishment. It is not permitted for individuals from multiple bubbles to play darts or pool against each other. The Branch House rules must be followed at all times. Random card play or tournaments are not permitted. Cards can be played at liquor licensed premises under limited restrictions: - limited to people who are in the same household or close social group (of 10 or less) that have entered the establishment; - players cannot move to another table; - cards must be sanitized before and after usage or the group can bring their own deck; and - players are to wash or sanitize their hands before playing (and after leaving the table before playing again). Plastic Masks or Face Shields are not permitted under the Health Protection Order unless a cloth mask is also worn. Should you enter the Branch with just a plastic mask or Face Shield you will given the option of purchasing one at the cost of $1.50 or you will be asked to leave the premises/ As it has been since March, these are trying times and things are still changing rapidly. What we must try to keep in mind is that the NS Government and Health Authorities are making these directives based on science and that they are doing this to help contain the spread of COVID-19 and to protect us all. One just need to look at the news to see what is happening all around the world, including right here in Canada, to understand that we must do everything we can to prevent the re-introduction and further spread of the virus. Thank you for your continued patience and adherence to the Health Protection Order. Remember to do your part by maintaining physical distancing, wash your hands frequently, wear a mask indoors, keep your in-person contacts low and stay home and self isolate if you have any symptoms, even mild ones. Your President Joanne Geddes
TGIF 30th Oct Friday, 30th of October is the start of the Poppy Campaign and it is also the day that Betty Pooley, Sue McGowan and Jil Trowsse will be organizing the Modified TGIF. The weather is definitely getting cooler so instead of the delectable BBQ Burgers that we have become accustomed to, they will be serving up some scrumptious Chili and a roll. We will also be selling final tickets for the draw on the Stanley Mechanics Tool Set (Retail Value $500.00) as well as the Chase the Ace Volunteers will be busy with the Jackpot being over $4500.00.
On behalf of all Veterans and the members of Centennial Legion Branch 160, we would like to thank the person(s) who graced our Cenotaph with these beautiful hand painted tokens of Remembrance. What a wonderful way to kick off the start of the Poppy Campaign on 30 October, especially during these challenging times. Thank You and We Will Remember Them
