Gary's impact on the club and tennis community across Alberta has been incredible and we wish him all the best in retirement. Part of the celebration was the renaming of court 1 to the Gary Fletcher Court. Congratulations Gary and thank you for all that you have done for the Royal Glenora Club

Rogers Rankings have resumed as of July 16th, 2020 after the disruption due to COVID-19. Tennis Canada did not drop ranking points from a players profile when... they started processing tournaments on the 16th of July. The current rolling 52 weeks period will be extended by a yet undetermined amount. As each province is getting #back2tennis and sanctioned events at different times, there may be a fluctuation in rankings. Since no ranking points will be dropped, this fluctuation should work itself out over this upcoming season. Tennis Alberta acknowledges the challenges for our membership. Provincial or regional tournaments are unable to occur within the Provinces Stage 2 relaunch strategy, because those events would bring together people from different cohorts and from various regions within or outside of the province. We will continue to update the community on this changing COVID-19 situation. Thank you for your patience and understanding. After 60 days of closure, we were excited to be able to welcome our members back to our outdoor courts. It was a fantastic weekend filled with beautiful weather, many mishit shots and most importantly happy faces. Thank you to all of our member services and maintenance staff as well as everyone behind the scenes for making it such a successful reopening. We look forward to welcoming more members in the coming week

Wednesday was a special day for the Royal Glenora Club as we were recognized by Tennis Alberta for our contribution to community initiatives. It was also incredible special for Senior Tennis Professional, Marvin Hinds who was recognized for his dedication and commitment towards improving tennis in this province. Congratulations Marvin!!!

Congratulations to Danika Horcica & Lily Winter who competed in the Saville U9 Tournament on the weekend. Both girls performed very well and had a lot of fun. Thanks to coach Marvin for being there in support of the girls as well as the Saville Sports Centre for hosting the event

On Saturday, September 14th we hosted our annual fall welcome back social. It was a great event with over 75 members participating in a doubles mixer, pickleball and a burger buffet while watching an exhibition match between Nick Rebelo & Gary Fletcher vs. Alek Salwierz & Lane Richard. Congratulations to Alek & Lane who won 8-6 in a fantastic match. Thank you to all of our staff as well as our organizing team; Brea Pedersen, Michelle Florence, Dana Bouliane, Rozelle Winter and Sandra Megson as well as chair umpire, Warren Jones for ensuring that everyone was behaving.
