Mounting a 3 meter (9.8 feet) tall hanging is no easy task. But keeping our textiles in tip-top shape means limiting their long term exposure to light. A general rule of thumb? Textiles should be limited to roughly 6 months of display in a 5 year period, if you want to display them more than once. Jones’s evocative piece, within the Museum's permanent collection, is a Victorian-style mourning dress made of synthetic hair, around which cotton bolls are strewn. Worn addresses the complexity of African Canadian identity when shaped by forces such as imperial rule, slavery, and alienation.

Only 2 dinosaur species are known to have had wings made out of stretched skin, like bats. Unlike bats, these dinos were capable of only limited gliding between trees. That bat-winged gliding turned out to be a dead-end along the path to the evolution of flight. They are a failed experiment."
