Today we are inoculating logs with oyster spawn. You are welcome to stop by, see the process, talk mushrooms and take a look at a bunch of alder logs with a great flush. 980 Cemetery road, Gibsons. Yesterday's power outage up here and the huge 'todo' list has thwarted the baker this weekend. Sorry - no baking or bread. Squashes & Pumpkins at the gate - all delicious to eat as well as lovely additions to festive autumnal displays.

The fall rains have our oyster mushroom logs flushing. I am getting much better at knowing when to harvest them. They will keep in a fridge for 5 or 6 days. Healthy awsume and almost magical. At the gate tomorrow. We are still selling logs.

The Rouge Vif d'Etampes winter squashs are ready for the gate. French heirloom from 1880 they make great carving, decoration and winter meals. One of the most expencive seeds so just had to grow some, eh!

At the gate today we have Bagels! Also since September has been good for the Basil plants, we blended a huge batch of garlic pesto and added it with our dried tomatoes to our Pesto Focaccia and Pesto Hearty Pull-a-part bread. There is also plain white and hearty for those who don't want garlic breath

Fall hours are friday noonish to sat eve. Our small pumpkins are ripe. Kelly made bread I picked some pristine oyster mushrooms. 7 stems of chard and 7 stems of kale make a nice arrangement plus are a great value.

Our mushroom logs continue to flush. I picked a 1lb 2 pluus oz of oysters this morning. They are very prime, dry and ready to be used. They are worth $14 including the box. Message us to have them set out the gate with your name on it.

Up here on the mountain, the delayed summer has run into an early Autumn :) which means we are spending a lot of time in the kitchen preserving the harvest. The Bakehouse is making use of the abundance of homemade pesto with a Pesto pull-a-part bread, healthy sized Hearty Loaves. Now at our Gate.

We have changed to our fall days. Now open Friday and Saturday only. Hopfully there will be bread each day. We are pickling today. Picking tomorrow, small pumpkins and hard squashs plus potatoes and other regualr vegs.
