North Star Community School had a December Food Drive, organized and managed by Grade 5 student Logan Langlois, and collected almost 600 food items. Collected items were donated and picked up today by the Atikokan Community Food Bank. NSCS had an amazing response from students and families! #sharethegood

Riverview School held a food drive during the first 2 weeks of December. They were able to collect 289 food items for the West End Food Bank in Rainy River. The students competed for a pizza party for the class that brought the most items making it a fun, challenging and worthwhile activity. #sharethegood
This bilingual Ojibwe English children’s book is based on a story captured and translated by RRDSB Ojibwe Language Coordinator Jason Jones based on teachings from Elders in the Rainy Lake Area. Many of our schools are receiving copies of this book and are meeting with Ojibwe language keepers and Elders to speak about the lessons through Connected North sessions. #SharetheGood https://takingitglobal.medium.com/imaa-baawitigong-new-ojib
