From November 20th to December 18th 2015 the Young & Potential Fathers initiative in collaboration with the Harriet Tubman Community Organization along with var...ious community supporters will run a KWANZAA bookmark contest for kids to promote and increase awareness of the Kwanzaa celebration and The Nguzo Saba (The Seven Principles), specifically Kuumba (Creativity): To do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it. This contest is FREE to enter and open to kids up to 13 years of age from across the GTA and surrounding areas. Entry deadline is December 18. From the entries received we will select a winner for each of the following three age categories: 6 years and under, 7 to 9 years, and 10 to 13 years whose bookmarks will be professionally printed and distributed throughout the GTA and surrounding areas. All winners will receive a special Kwanzaa prize pack and 50 copies of their bookmarks. Please sign your name on the book mark before submission. We are operating currently on a volunteer basis while redeveloping and building this new and different iteration of Redemption Reintegration Services. Do we still provide services for young people involved with the criminal justice system? YES, Do we still work in an holistic manner? YES, Are we, the Interim Board functioning as best we can to put things in... place for this very important group of youth? YES - if you've been wondering about how to reach us, about who we are and how we can support your re-entry to community from incarceration, please call 416 613 2920. Monday evening 6-8 pm Nutrition and then Movement classes with first sis Kathy and then Brother Kofi - Tuesday evenings 4-6 pm with Brother Nohsehere - Connecting to Ancestral Leadership - Wednesday's drop in and connect with Brother Bashiyr from 11-5 pm and Counselling with Sister Ekua from 6-8 pm, Friday evenings Movie and chat with Brother Dewitt. A Big thank you to Manyatta Network for their donation to RRS at their fundraising Gala this past Saturday! It was wonderful to be surrounded by people that all share a great love for our community, and a desire to see our youth exceed! The Manyatta group of young black professionals meets on a regular basis to network and gather together over good food and drinks.
