Isabelle, her mom Stephanie and Isabelle’s little brother Nicholas(who is a twin)dropped in! It was amazing to meet Isabelle who this fundraiser was all about! This brave little princess takes nightly chemotherapy meds as well as a weekly dose. Antibiotics are taken twice a day to prevent lung infections. Through all this she’s does everything a 4 year old should be doing and is in her first year of school. Her mom chuckles as she’s says she’s a tad sassy... FLU SHOT UPDATE! Our first shipment of vaccine should arrive between mid to end of October. Our procedures have changed this year because of Covid19. We will be giving flu shots by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please call or drop in to have your name on our appointment list.... Once we receive our supply you will receive a phone call to set up an appointment. The day before you are scheduled to come in for your vaccination, you will receive a reminder phone call and at that time, you will be asked prescreening questions. The prescreening questions will be asked once again when you arrive for your appointment. With the many protocols involved this year, we would like everyone to be aware beforehand as this is new for all of us. There is a little princess in our midsts, her name is Isabelle ! This past year, Isabelle has been through more than any child should go through. Isabelle Lacasse is 4 years old and lives in Massey. On September 13, 2019 she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Since then she had to overcome many hurdles during this past year. She now has a blood clot in her brain, a side effect from chemotherapy treatment. This tough little girl continues to battle through as she has to take 2 needles a day , Enoxaparin to help treat the blood clot. Isabelle is in a maintenance phase that will run approximately 2 years. Meanwhile, she has to go to Sudbury every two weeks and to Toronto when she needs lumbar punctures. Many travel expenses incurred with these appointments. We will be donating our Dress Down Friday funds and challenge local businesses to match that ! Donations can be dropped off at our store !
