The Club is disappointed that it was not able to host its annual Holiday events but wants to wish you and your family a safe and Happy Holiday season. We invite you to continue the tradition of singing Christmas carols by downloading some lyrics from your favorite site and sing along to celebrate the season! L’Honorable Joan Fraser, C.M., sénatrice à la retraite et autrefois rédactrice en chef du Montreal Gazette, a été nommée Membre de l’Ordre du Canada le 27 novembre dernier en reconnaissance de sa remarquable carrière de journaliste. Elle fut éditrice de la page éditoriale du journal de 1978 à 1993 et par la suite, rédactrice en chef de 1993 à 1996. Madame Fraser était également reconnue pour son engagement en faveur des droits des minorités linguistiques. Deux ans plus tard, ...elle fut nommée au Sénat par le premier Ministre de l’époque, Me Jean Chrétien. Elle a quitté le Sénat en 2018. L’Honorable Joan Fraser et son époux, Monsieur Michel Faure, sont membres du Yacht-Club Royal Saint-Laurent. Joan Fraser, a retired senator and former editor-in-chief of the Montreal Gazette, was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada on November 27th, 2020 in recognition for her outstanding career as a journalist. She was the newspaper’s editorial page editor from 1978 to 1993 and then, editor-in-chief from 1993 to 1996. Ms. Fraser was also recognized for her work with linguistic minorities. Two years later, she was appointed to the Senate by then-prime minister Jean Chrétien. She left the Senate in 2018. The Honourable Ms. Fraser and her husband, Michel Faure are members of the RStLYC.

DES NOUVELLES DE WORLD SAILING PETER HALL World Sailing est la Fédération internationale qui fait la promotion de la voile à l’échelle mondiale. Peter Hall est bénévole au sein de World Sailing depuis 1994 et chef de la délégation canadienne qui participe aux rencontres de WS. Il a récemment été réélu au Conseil l’instance de décision de World Sailing. Peter est le Conseiller qui représente l’Amérique du Nord, région P, et il occupe ce poste depuis 2010. Il est le ...plus ancien des Conseillers. Le Yacht-Club Royal Saint-Laurent est fier de féliciter Peter à l’occasion de cette réélection comme représentant du Canada et de l’Amérique du Nord, de même que pour ses longues années de bénévolat avec World Sailing. Peter Hall has been volunteering at World Sailing since 1994, is leader of the Canadian delegation attending World Sailing meetings, and was recently re-elected to Council the policy decision making entity at World Sailing. Peter is the Councillor for North America, Region P and has been in this position since 2010. He is the longest serving Councillor. As we turn back the clocks, we can get comfy cozy and start dreaming of the next boating season. What better way to do so than by enjoying a nice hot drink by the fireplace. Here’s a recipe to enjoy over the cold months ahead provided by our favorite bar keeper at the Club: IRISH COFFEE 1 oz Irish Whiskey 0.5 oz Irish Mist 6 oz coffee... Whipped cream to taste Sprinkle of nutmeg to taste Enjoy! Après le changement d’heure, on s’offre des soirées relaxantes et chaleureuses en attendant l’ouverture de la prochaine saison de navigation! Quelle meilleure façon de le faire qu’en savourant un bon breuvage fumant dans le confort de notre chez-soi? Voici une recette pour réchauffer les prochains mois à venir, recommandation de notre tenancière préférée au Club : - 1 oz de Whiskey Irlandais - 0,5 oz de Irish Mist - 6 oz de café - Ajoutez de la crème fouettée, au goût - Saupoudrer de muscade, au goût Bonne dégustation!

La saison de navigation est terminée, mais pas la saison de tennis. Le jeu en simple est permis, donc on en profite ! The boating season is over but not the tennis season. We are allowed to play in singles so we are taking advantage of it!
