Had the opportunity to chat with Dave Morrow from the The Hard To Kill Podcast about this year's Road to Recovery Ruck covering 900km in support of the The Royal Canadian Legion - National Headquarters program called "Operation: Leave The Streets Behind" that works to get and keep veterans off the street, give it a listen and check out his other episodes.

It is with a heavy heart that we learn of the outcome of our sister. May the family, friends, and those that served with her be at rest. They say They say those who fought in WW2 were the last great generation. They were called upon to fight in massive campaigns, in places they have never hear...d of, leaving their families behind to defend their country for the greater good. I think every generation has had a war to fight. The generation that fought in the Vietnam war. Some drafted just like they were in WW2 they fought in places they have never heard of. Apparently less then 50% of Americans even knew of a country called Vietnam when the war started. They fought in vicious battles, massive campaigns that dropped more ordnance in weeks then what was dropped in all of WW2. The war on terror begins, from Iraq to Afghanistan the next generation fought for the greater good. We went to places we have never heard of. Although not drafted we voluntarily went into war, into combat. Leaving our loved ones behind we fought for the greater good just like those before us in WW1 and WW2. We took part in some of the largest NATO led operations since the Korean War. Many never made it home and many more are still fighting at home. All generations have accomplished something extraordinary. From Vimy ridge to Normandy and Fallujah to Panjwa’i we all fought. Kevin Vuong (@kevinvuongmp ), MP of Spadina-Fort York , and an officer in the RCN has registered for the 900km Virtual Ruck and is doing his part to fight Veteran Homelessness!We didn't ask him to, he just saw the event like anyone else and signed up. That's great stuff in our books! So the question is... Any other active or retired military Veterans in the House of Commons/Senate want to pick up the challenge?... 6 months to complete 900km rucking 35lbs or more. It's 5km a day.
