Staff changes & additions at Rugby Nova Scotia ! It’s with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of administrative assistant, Graham Young. Graham held the position for two years and played a huge part in developing our organization. We wish Graham good luck in his new role with the federal department of Employment and Social Development. ... We are delighted to welcome Vanessa Robertson into the position. Vanessa comes to Rugby Nova Scotia, in partnership with Sport Nova Scotia, with a Masters of Sport Management from the University of Ottawa and has spent many years in the sport sector holding positions with Special Olympics NS, Canada Basketball, and the Province of Nova Scotia. Vanessa brings a high level of experience as well as excellent leadership and organizational skills to this position. Rugby Nova Scotia is also delighted to add to our work force with two RNS academy coordinators as part of the Government of Nova Scotia -student skills incentive. Cape Breton - Chauntelle Brewer Chauntelle is from Sydney, Cape Breton. She has been a part of all aspects of rugby in Cape Breton, from mini rugby, to high school and senior teams. She is a member of the Senior Women’s Keltics team. She is currently finishing her Bachelor of Public Relations degree and is also a Registered Nurse in the operating room in Sydney. Pictou County - Sam Lake Sam, from Windsor NS, currently living in antigonish where She is attending STFX for a bachelors of education. Sam has completed 5 years of varsity rugby at STFX and has been involved with the Keltics program for 8 years. Sam is super excited to share her passion for Rugby in the Pictou region.

Today Canadian player Olivia DeMerchant leaves to join the English premiership. As a wave goodbye she was presented with four awards in recognition of her 2019 season. Rugby Nova Scotia player of the year, finalist for Support4Sport- Nova Scotia athlete of the year, Rugby Canada player of the year and the Rugby Canada Gillian Florence award (players player of the year) a huge achievement for Olivia who also captained the national team for the first time in late 2019.... Olivia has been centralized in Halifax for the last number of years training and now moves to England to gain some much needed game time ahead of the 2021 Rugby World Cup. We look forward to seeing her in New Brunswick Rugby Union and Keltics colours again soon. Best wishes and congratulations Olivia!
