NEED ACCOMMODATION IN BRIGHTON, UK for a disabled woman who has survived an acid attack and is traveling to Brighton for an eye surgery. As many of you know, we..., as part of a feminist collective in Toronto, in collaboration with my mom's bakery which creates employment opportunities for disabled immigrant and refugee woman, are fundraising for an upcoming surgery in the U.K. for a blind woman who has survived an acid attack in Iran. The surgery is called "osteo odonto keratoprosthesis" and is only done by the prominent surgeon, Dr. Christopher Liu, a senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Sussex Eye Hospital in Brighton. For the duration of the surgeries, which might be a few, we need accommodation for Masoumeh, as she cannot afford to stay at a hotel. Please share this widely with whomever you think might be generous and interested in providing accommodation for Masoumeh for the duration of her stay in Brighton, UK. Masoumeh Ataei lost both her eyes and was terribly scarred in 2010, when she was attacked with acid by her father-in-law after the collapse of her marriage due to her husband’s drug addiction.
