With the Scotiabank Marathon just around the corner, here are 10 reminders to help you get into the right frame of mind for race day: 1. You have nothing to prove when you race. Your race is for you and for you only. 2. We don’t pursue goals to achieve them. We pursue goals to challenge ourselves and explore what’s possible. ... 3. You define what success means for you on race day. 4. You don’t have to be better than you once were. Just be the best you are right now. 5. If you promise yourself that you will be proud of your result as long as you give your best effort, you will battle less negativity when the going gets tough. 6. Let your best be good enough. 7. Try not to compare yourself to others. We may be racing on the same road, but we are all on our own unique journey. Own your process. 8. No one is judging your performance but you, so be kind to yourself. 9. Be thankful for the gift of your fit, healthy body. 10. Have fun.
