Mind Blowing Mondays: Life Insurance According to a study done by BMO Insurance in 2014, most Canadians don't really understand life insurance, or even know if they have any... The BMO survey pinpointed the top three reasons why consumers buy life insurance:... 1. They don't want to be a burden to their family when they die (53%). 2. They feel a responsibility to have it (49%). 3. They were told by their family and friends that they should have it (16%). There are so many reasons why people purchase insurance, and as insurance advisors, it is our job to find out what needs you are trying to fulfill with life insurance in order to suggest the right products and services to meet those continually changing needs. For example, is it being used to cover financial concerns of a mortgage and children?, is it more for short term needs (debt from a business) or is it a to provide a tax sheltered avenue for money to grow?.. the reasons and products are endless as we all live unique lives. Piece of mind can indeed be bought; just like you purchase insurance for your car in case of an accident, just like you purchase home insurance in case of a robbery, why would you not purchase life insurance in case of death...really think about it.. We would love to hear from followers on whether you have life insurance, how much life insurance you and your family have and why you purchased life insurance.
