Unfortunately, after 4 short weeks, we lost our sweet Wall-E. We suspect it was due to a birth defect of some sort, yet the time we had with our playful boy with the long eyelashes is very much treasured. It has been a few weeks now since we've lost him, and this post is overdue. We miss him regularly, yet we are glad that when his time came to leave it wasn't spread over days, but just the course of one day. He was very much loved by many and treasured by many more.

We would like to welcome the newest addition to the farm! A surprise welcome at that! Wall-E was born to our lapaca Simba on Thursday, May 13th and while we weren't expecting this surprise bundle of joy, we are very glad he's here! Simba is very attentive to him, and Auntie Lolita dotes on him too.

Welcome to Russander Farm!

Our other bonded pair of baby birds. Bubba, the duckling, and Gertie, the turkey, are both at about the 4 week mark, with Gertie about a week older than Bubba. Wherever you might find one, the other isn't very far away.

Bubbles, the momma duck, with her 2 babies. These babies are the same age as Jace and Thor, and are full siblings to them as well.

Jace (the yellow duckling) and Thor (the brown duckling) hatched within a day of each other almost 6 weeks ago. They have become quite the bonded pair while growing and changing over time - sometimes too fast it might feel like! They are among the 14 ducklings we have here at the farm, ranging from almost 2 weeks, almost 4 weeks and almost 6 weeks old.
