The Condors is a hockey program for kids and young adults who are unable to play on any other hockey team due to a cognitive and/or physical disability. Our Peewee B team participated in a random act of kindness by mailing Christmas cards to our troops who are deployed overseas this holiday season in response to a recent call-out made on social media by Canadian Armed Forces. Each card featured the team's photo on the front and the girl's signatures on the back. According to Global News, there are approximately 2,100 soldiers deployed on 28 overseas missions and Capt. Denice Zoretich was quoted as saying that cards from child...ren are especially touching, It is absolutely adorable when kids send us photos, and it’s just a nice reminder that all ages are supporting us. The girls spread the holiday cheer even further by sending cards to the volunteers at the Fire Departments in Metcalfe, Russell and Embrun. In total, 75 Christmas cards were sent by the team. What a great way to think of your community this holiday season girls! See more
