( part 2) Today was international Hat Day! Our residents came down and had fun showing off their hats. In the afternoon our residents enjoyed some Waffle Fruit Bowls delivered to their suites

We had lots of fun and some good laughs today! Residents came down to play a game of Deer Hunting with nerf guns and some of our staff were good sports and played reindeer trying to dodge bullets!

Merry Christmas & A very Happy New Year from all of us here @ Russell Meadows Retirement Community.We would like to thank all of our school friends in our community who sent in hundreds of beautiful Christmas cards for all of our residents & made us santa table centerpieces.You really brightend the holiday season and created lots of smiles.Thank you to our amazing staff who worked hard through the holidays & our awsome kitchen staff who worked hard and made sure our residents got to enjoy a lovley Christmas dinner. This year was different without being able to have our yearly bazzarr so we decided to have a Christmas bake sale on friday for our residents and staff. It turned out so nice. Christmas music playing and some shopping for some of our favorite Christmas treats!!! Thank you so much to all of the bakers in our amazing community who donated their delicious treats and their time and staff who donated so many wonderful treats for us to beable to shop for as well. A huge thank you ...to Pat Staal one of our awsome volunteers who rounded up all the bakers from the outside!! You are amazing!! We also had 2 draws one for a basket FULL of treats and gifts donated by the community.Thank you Charlotte Scharf and everyone who helped with it! Congratulations Verna on winning the basket and Sharron for winning a Christmas Bear. We ended our day with delivering baked goods and Baily's and coffee to all of our residents in their suites.Thank you liliane and Lynn for your helping hands. See more

Christmas is in the house ! Hot chocolate and snowballs, Christmas card making, Russell Meadows had Elves going around today handing out candy canes and taking some fun christmas pics & finished the day today with Christmas Bingo! Thank you to Betty Kingsbury and her family for sharing their homemade gingerbread house for our residents to look at and enjoy!! Congratulations to David for winning our guess how many candycanes? He guessed 105 and there was a 106!!!!

Residents came down dressed in their best to enjoy some hors d'oeuvres, A Christmas punch and a beautiful lunch prepared by our kitchen staff. After lunch residents got their picture taken with Santa. We also had a draw for some Christmas bags full of goodies. Congratulations Keith and Loretta for having the winning numbers! Thank you Don for entertaining the residents with your guitar and Thank you to our AMAZING team for making today so special for our residents. Also a big Thank You to Passiflora Floral Boutique in embrun for helping us out with the fresh flowers so the residents could wear beautiful corsages for their special lunch.

Some of our residents came down to help us paint all the pegs for our Thanksgiving Thankful Wreath. Then ALL of our residents told us some of the things they are Thankful for in their lives and we wrote them on the pegs . We found the perfect place to hang it in our front lobby for everyone to see and read!

And a very special Italian lunch for our residents followed by a beautiful court yard concert. On April 24th our staff and residents wore red and had a moment of silence to pay tribute to the victims in Nova Scotia. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nova Scotia and the families of the victims.

WOW !! I cannot stop thanking this Community! We had some very kind people from our community walk over with their horses today and do a little horse parade outside for our residents. Oh and of course we had to have ice cream with our fresh air and horse parade! We had amazing weather too!! What a beautiful day Many thanks to Donna Nordenstorm and friends!

Residents had so much fun with a Mexican themed day accompanied by a special Mexican lunch with homemade salsa and deep fried Taquitos for appys. Lots of Mexican music , and even a little beach time! Thanks to our amazing team for helping to make this day such a success!

We are seeking to increase our inventory of PPE. (surgical masks, N95 masks, visors, googles, hand sanitizers, wipes, non-latex gloves and disposable gowns). We are grateful for those who have already donated these essential items to protect our residents and staff. Homemade fabric mask are also accepted. Please: - ensure all the items are sanitized and are in a carton box, no plastic bags please... - items will be stored for 72 hours before entering the residence - Indicate date and time of delivery outside the box..Please leave us your name and contact information. - drop off at the retirement home shelves installed outside. Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. - do not enter the retirement home and interact with staff and residents while delivering. - a mask is required to be worn at all times when entering the property Alternatively, send us an email at [email protected] or [email protected] and we will arrange pick up. Essential Visitors Only (Emergencies only) Effective immediately, we are requiring that only essential visitors (Emer...gencies) be permitted into our residences. Emergency visits are defined as relatives who have a loved one who is critically ill. Essential visitors must comply with active screening measures, and those who fail screening or who refuse screening will not be permitted to enter. No other visitors will be permitted to enter our residences; instead they will be asked to keep in touch with loved ones by phone or other technologies, as available. See more
