a delicious way to use up fruits and veggies that are almost on their death bed it doesn't take anything fancy to dry fruits and veggies. just pop your thinly sliced, ripe or slightly too ripe produce in the oven on low heat until they're dry and chewy or really dry and crispy. ... and voila!! a tasty snack and a second chance at life for your produce :) try it out and let us know how it goes! : @cute.baby.animals.daily

tips to help you grocery shop check what you have before you go shopping - I know this one seems like a no brainer but it makes a difference to avoid repeat buying try to build meals around what you already have and need to use up! when you run out of something write it down right away so you never have to think twice about whether you have a staple or not... try to plan ahead so you only buy what you'll use : @bunnyrabbitry

I was today years old when... I found out that there's specific spots that you should put different food in your fridge in order to keep it fresh for longer - top shelf: leftovers, drinks, ready-to-eat foods, berries, herbs... - middle shelf: milk, eggs, dairy - bottom shelf: stuff that goes bad the fastest - high humidity drawer: veggies - low humidity drawer: fruits - door: warmest part of the fridge so sauces and condiments am I late to the game on this one? let me know if you already knew this or if it's new to you too!

in need of some monday motivation to reduce food waste? here are some by-products of the lifecycle of wasted food: - 193 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emission - 6 billion cubic meters of water ... - 22.1 hectares of cropland production - 38.6 cubic meters of landfill space - $278 billion in market value of annual food production these numbers are so big that they're hard to fully grasp, but let's remember... little things, done by lots of people, change the world it's a new week. let's do what we can to make those numbers smaller

veggies wilting? pop them in some ice water for 5-10 minutes a quick soak can be enough to revive them! if not, wilted veggies still taste great in cooked dishes
