when mr agrees to be my hand model love day flowers have been picked up, processed and are getting hydrated & pretty for their debut this weekend! flowers in the studio = happy happy days.

it’s been a hot minute since i’ve flowered for an event and tomorrow i’m finally picking up blooms for all our love day orders. i’m so giddy with excitement and so so ready to start designing some beautiful pieces! happy love day week friends

an oldie, but a goodie happy last friday of september friends, yea i know - i couldn’t believe it either.

i had to turn on the heater today for the first time this season. i guess it’s fitting seeing as tomorrow is the first day of fall. i know winter comes around every year, so some might say i should be used to it by now, but honestly - i can never get used to our canadian cold. shot by the lovely @selinawhittakerphoto

trying to find the perfect angle like... today i have to tackle cleaning the warehouse after weeks of putting it off. so many buckets to wash and items to put away...i’m actually scared lol. this is definitely part of the not so glamorous side of wedding and event floristry. it’s not only playing with flowers all the time.

every time i see this picture, i can’t help but remember such happy flower times from earlier this year. literally one week before the canada/usa border closed due to covid, i was in texas learning all the things from @amynicolefloral & @sweetrootvillage. everything i learned that week not only changed my business, but it changed my life to. let’s face it, when you own a small business, your business is your life. but it wasn’t just what i learned, it was the people i met that really made the week even that much better. honestly, we had the best group of ladies. ladies i would gladly call my flower friends for life. the true definition of community over competition!

once i became a florist, i stopped buying flowers for myself. it wasn’t intentional but i guess because i always have flowers around in some capacity (leftovers, mockups etc.) i never bought flowers just to enjoy for my viewing pleasure. last week i walked into the cooler and saw these lil babies and could not resist, i had to get them. 2020 really is the year of change! florists deserve a little flower love to amiright?!

i went to the farmers market this weekend in search of pumpkins and there were none in sight. i guess i’m to early to the fall game, this weather is playing tricks on me. happy labour day long weekend my flower friends! enjoy these last few days of summer.

ok but how is it september already?! september is a slow month for us, which means a lot of cleaning, organizing, catching up on admin work - basically all the things i love to put off . a friendly reminder that we still have a good amount of dried/preserved product for sale as part as of #blacklivesmatter campaign. check out our ‘dried’ stories highlight or send me a dm for more info.

even in the midst of a pandemic, charlotte & mike were still able to get married on their original wedding date. it looked different than they originally planned but honestly the love was the same, if not more! what a story tell and look back on. sealed with a covid-free kiss.

it’s my first weekend off in a long time and i am getting those friday feels. hubby is taking me out for dinner tonight for the first time since covid, so i finally have a reason to brush my hair and look presentable. ha! tomorrow we get facials and sunday we spend the day at my in laws pool. i’m ready for some r & r!! cheers to the weekend. @ Toronto, Ontario

yesterday wrapped up my fourth and final shoot for august. doing 4 shoots in 9 days was intense, but i’m so happy to have been apart of them. so much goodness to share with all of you soon. it’s back to regular scheduled programming over here - proposals, washing buckets, playing with left over flowers - you know the drill. there’s so much bts planning going on and so many exciting things in the works! happy thursday my people.

flowering for c & m’s wedding yesterday was bringing me excitement like no other...man i’ve missed weddings so much. nothing beats the excitement of setup days! no flowers this week but that’s ok because next week we have two styled shoots to play with. happy monday friends
