Rutland Dental Centre was able to contribute to the Westside Salvation Army for their Christmas Gifts of Hope fundraiser this year. There was supposed to be a drive-thru breakfast, but unfortunately that could not proceed as normal. Instead, breakfast bags will be donated to families in need this holiday season. Thank you to the Salvation Army for reaching out to us to participate in the fundraiser and allowing us to help out during this time of need for so many families in our area!

I completed my training at Okanagan College over 22 years ago and have worked as a Certified Dental Assistant at the office off and on for the past 20 years. Out with the old, and in with the new! Here at Rutland Dental Centre, we are proud to be equipped with a digital scanner. What this means for our patients is that instead of having to go through traditional impressions (which no one enjoys), we will instead use our Trios 3Shape scanner to capture 3D images of your teeth. The scanner can be used to take digital impressions for crowns, Invisalign treatments, orthodontic retainers, nightguards, implant surgical guides, and dig...ital mock-ups for smile designs. I was raised in William’s Lake and attended post-secondary in Vancouver and Prince George BC, where I earned my Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 1993. I returned to studies and obtained my Bachelor Degree from UBC in 2018. My Husband and I have raised our two kids in sunny Kelowna since our move here in 1997. I love the... Okanagan for the weather, endless outdoor activities, and of course, the wine! I live in the Rutland area and feel very fortunate to work as well in this great community. My goal is to have a positive impact on our client’s oral and overall health and to contribute to a less-stressful dental experience. Meet the team at Rutland Dental Centre! Hi, I'm Jenna! I'm a born and raised Kelowna girl. I knew I wanted to be in the health care profession, and having family in dentistry helped push me in that direction. I graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Okanagan College in 2012, and have been at Rutland Dental Centre ever since. If I'm not out hiking with my dog Lola or camping in the summer, then you'll find me at Big White or at a hockey game in the winter.

Rutland Dental Centre’s TIP TUESDAY! This diagram is a great visual for how cavities form in teeth. It takes three things: Teeth, bacteria, and sugar. Good oral hygiene (brushing, flossing, rinsing) can help lower levels of cavity-causing bacteria in your mouth, and limiting sugars in your diet can help limit the fuel that these bacteria use to produce the acid that leads to cavities. So remember, along with keeping your mouth clean, what you eat/drink is also super important for maintaining your teeth!
