Climate Action To-Go kits are now available!
Earlier this week I had the pleasure of photographing the BC Wild Seafood Reception for the Underwater Harvesters Association. I got to meet cyclist, television personality and long-time seafood sustainability ambassador Chef Ned Bell - one of the finest handshakes ever :)
For those of you not in the know, lots has been changing for RWO. For the last 6 months I have finally taken on a 1.0 continuing position as a digital media/photography and visual art teacher at Spectrum Community School. While this has been very exciting, it also means that I have been cutting back on my photo work to focus on my students. However! I have still been taking the odd corporate gig. Here is a little ditty I did just this week for the CRD and their Climate Acti...on package for libraries. My goal is to continue to do corporate work, but also to share more of my personal work when I find the time.
Had the pleasure of photographing the release of Spruce - the newest magazine from Page One Publishing here in Victoria.

Strategy Planning session today for the Professional Employees Association
Hey everyone! After three years I finally updated my website. It has a completely fresh look to it with an updated portfolio. My journal will be updated with regular posts on projects that I do, along with my Facebook page. Check it out and let me know what you think!... http://rwophotography.com
Editing weddings can get pretty emotional....
Currently working on a project for the Victoria Real Estate Board and wanted to show the importance of texture in the sky. We are having some beautiful days outside - sometimes too beautiful! I always comment that overcast days are great for portraits...but overcast (and clear skies for that matter) can sometimes lead to a boring sky for landscapes. Clouds are great because they give another dimension to a photograph and fill the negative space. I've been learning more and more about timing, following the sun, and how it relates to buildings, but those clear skies are just lacking oomph! Here's a before and after of a building in Oak Bay that got the cumulus treatment:
Hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend! Stay cool out there!
I had the pleasure of photographing Brett and David's wedding last Friday at St. Anne's downtown. Thanks again to both families for being so welcoming - I had a great time! All the best to the happy couple!
Had the awesome pleasure of shooting behind the scenes video for this wedding style shoot today at Cinderbloc Studio! Thanks to everyone involved!
Had the opportunity to photograph Kathleen Asher yesterday at Hatley Castle! Enjoy the photos, Kathleen, and all the best on your new website!
A very happy new year to everyone! I've got a few projects on the go that include some work for the CRD, focusing on the Esquimalt Lagoon and the Gorge Waterway. I'm also putting together a year-in-review video for the PEA, headshots for the Esquimalt MFRC (Military Family Resource Centre) among others! I know I've been a bit quiet. I'm currently teaching yearbook at my school which has been a great experience so far...just time consuming :)... One of my goals for 2016 is to showcase more personal work. I'd love to get out of my comfort zone and try things I've never done before.
Just finished working with Westshore Town Center for another Christmas insert. Yes, Halloween is not even here yet and already working on Christmas catalogues!
Recently had the pleasure of photographing the staff of Go2Mobi, a mobile ad technology company. Great to see companies like this in Victoria! http://www.go2mobi.com/company/
Just wanted to do a quick shout out for Pizzeria Prima Strada on Bridge Street. Not long ago, Stephanie and Taylor's wedding reception was held here and I gotta say that the venue was absolutely beautiful and the service was impeccable. Such great attention to all the fine details!... I've finished editing the colour copies - now on to the black and whites! :)
Excited to hear that the Professional Employees Association won two awards from the Canadian Association of Labour Media, one of them being for excellence in print layout and design. "The PEA previously won for print layout in 2013, and they continue to sets the standard for excellence in union print materials. Professional photography, member-focussed content, great typography, attention to detail in layout. Each page has a unified feel, and yet each page has a unique approach whether it’s creating historical timelines or integrating historical imagery. The PEA shows balanced visuals with excellent longer-form layout to make articles engaging: for example, the recent issue includes an original report on the decline of science researchers in the public service. Fantastic work communicating to PEA members." http://www.pea.org/node/1626
Putting the final touches on headshots for Margaret Klatt of the University of Victoria.
Some of my favourites from Stephanie and Taylor's engagement shoot earlier today at the always awesome Fort Rodd Hill.
Couple shots from a product shoot at Westshore Town Centre yesterday. Lots of fun corporate work coming up, including more architectural work for the Capital Region Housing Corporation.
Great times at Westshore Town Centre's Family Festival over the weekend!
Photographing the Family Festival at the Westshore Town Centre this Saturday! http://westshoretowncentre.com/family-hobby-show-feb-6-8/
Last summer I had the opportunity to photograph the catalogue for a new line of equestrian clothing. Check out FOAL!
My second video for Island Farms features two girls that are Daisy SUPER FANS. They even invited her to check out their rooms :) Be sure to follow Island Farms and see how they are bringing holiday magic to the community.
One of two videos I got to shoot for an Island Farms holiday campaign through Holy Cow Communication Design.

Last touches on Nadia and Dan's wedding. Another one done! What a great wedding season!!
Hope everyone had a great Halloween! It's been quite busy around here with this, that and the other. Just finished a shoot for Westshore Mall's Christmas flyer insert and getting pumped for the Victoria Real Estate Board's Architectural Awards later this month. Now back to editing Nadia and Dan! Should be finished in the next week! Three thumbs up for that!
To all my awesome clients that I have worked with before, or to those that have seen me work at events, I have added a review section to my Facebook page. It would be great to hear back from you!!
