Is your child’s foot developing at the rate it should be? Flat feet are normal between the ages of 1 and 5, but should be improving bit by bit every year until age 6 at which point the heel should be vertical. Your child may not be in any pain, but that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be treated. Ask yourself these questions: ... - Does your child fatigue easily? - Are they slower than other kids? - Does your child complain of growing pains? (Although common, they are a sign that something is wrong) - Does your child all of a sudden not want to participate in activities? - Do you have foot, knee, hip, or back issues? Feet are genetic!! Another day, another pair of orthotics for a client! Orthotics aren’t just for people with flat feet. This particular client had trouble rolling out (or supinating as we call it in the Pedorthic world). This caused pain up the bottom half of the outside lower leg with walking and activity.
