Awesome work last night by the Tara Rotary Club and the Tara Arran Smoke Eaters! Very creative with the light up Tara event and a great surprise having the big guy show up and tour town! We have a wonderful community with a ton of spirit! Have a safe and happy holiday everyone!

Ontario’s ability to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change will be weakened by these changes! They undermine the work of conservation authorities ...to keep development out of high flood risk areas and to protect natural infrastructure that help mitigate flooding such as wetlands. These changes directly contradict the Made in Ontario Environment Plan that promotes building resilience for the costs and impacts of climate change. It is vital that you speak up now if you value the work of conservation authorities! Call your MPP, email your councilors and advocate for the removal of Schedule 6 from Bill 229. These changes will allow the Province to determine which municipally and self-funded programs conservation authorities undertake. This undermines the ability of... municipalities, local Boards, and Councils to define programs that they know will benefit the communities they represent. This may impact the types of programs and services that local communities have access to like environmental education, which has countless physical, emotional, and social benefits for participants. It is vital that you speak up now if you value the work of conservation authorities! Call your MPP, email your councilors and advocate for the removal of Schedule 6 from Bill 229.
