After careful consideration to the current and new restrictions put in place, as well as the rising numbers in our community, we have made the decision to shut down as of Friday Nov 27 until January 2nd and will re-evaluate closer to that time. *Confirmed Covid-19 case* On October 14th an individual who attended class has since tested positive for Covid-19. While they were infected at an unrelated gathering, we have informed the staff members working as well as the other 8 individuals in the class that they attended to self monitor for 14 days. Although we cannot control if an individual unknowingly contracts the virus and attends our facility, this serves as a great reminder of why we are doing what we are do...ing to keep Ryde’s employees and guests safe and limit possible transmissions while in our space. Since reopening in late June, we have welcomed over 17,500 spots in classes and continue to work diligently to do so safely and effectively while continuing to go above the current restrictions placed on our industry. With the completely surface free entry/exit, use of hand sanitizer and hospital grade cleaning products, ongoing social distancing, covid screening questionnaire, continued closure of change rooms, showers, water fountains, lockers and limited washroom use, as well as eliminating fans, weights and provided towels, along with keeping bikes at 3m apart, we know that what we are doing is working. In light of these recent events and community numbers, we will also be putting a mask policy in place when entering and exiting our classes to further support our current health and safety practices and address the changing weather and inability to wait outside until class opens for entry. Our complete winter policy/procedure will be coming out later this week. Thank you for your continued support of our ongoing procedures put in place.
