Hello Ryerson Families, At this point in time it is unknown as too when our children will be returning to school. Although we are hopeful, we have not been given a date. Therefore, Parent Council has made the tough decision to cancel our chocolate bar fundraiser for this school year. We want to thank everyone for their ongoing support this year. We've enjoyed seeing you in the community and at our school. We look forward to a fresh year with new faces and ideas!... Please continue to use this group to stay connected with one another, our community and our school. Hello Ryerson P.S. Families, Thank-you so much for getting your glow wear and pledge form money in. If you sent in glow wear money today it was collected...but specific orders cannot be guaranteed as pre-orders were due on Friday. We have marked down how much your child has brought in and they will be able to pick out and buy glow wear on the dance day. If you still have money to send in, please hold onto it until Friday!! That is the next time we will be collecting. Glow Wear WILL be sold at the dance. So if there is something your child wanted they will be able to get it then (of course depending on stock that's left).

For those of you who received dance-a-thon fundraising forms and were not supposed to because you made a donation to our one time fundraiser at the beginning of the year, we apologize. Please feel free to recycle it if you do not want to participate. However I would ask you to please be patient and kind with us. We are a small group of people who are going to the school on our lunch hours and in between meetings from our jobs to hand these things out to each individual stude...nt (474 to be exact). We photocopy, label and put these packages together by hand on our own time because with the current climate we cannot ask staff to help with this (and yes we do support our teachers and staff 100% in this recent job action). I usually do not post about all the behind scenes work that goes in to running a school council and supporting the students and activities at Ryerson, but when I hear people complaining or saying rude things about the way things are I feel the need to speak up. We are doing our best to keep things as normal as we can for the students and that means we are doing a lot more in the school and behind the scenes. We try to get it right, but sometimes mistakes are made and I am sorry for that.

UPDATE: All our elementary schools will be CLOSED to elementary students due to a withdrawal of services by the Elementary Educators (ETFO) on Thursday, Februar...y 6 and Friday, February 7, unless a tentative agreement is reached. All WRDSB operated before and after school programs will be CLOSED. Secondary schools will remain open for high school students. Full details can be found on our website.

Some of you may notice in step one of the instructions for the dance-a-thon pledge form it indicates to fill out the attached ballot and tear it off. Please disregard this, there is no ballot and this is a typo. Please use the envelope provided for donations and the enclosed pledge form to submit the money collected. Thank you !
