(Saturday, January 9, 2021) Water service has been restored to affected customers near 148 Chandler Drive in Lower Sackville. A lane drop will remain in effect ...until approximately 8:30AM while crews restore the work site. Sidewalks remain open. Some customers in the area may experience temporarily discoloured water. If discolouration occurs, run the COLD water at one faucet for about 10 minutes. You should see the water clear. Do not use the hot water faucet since this will draw discoloured water into your hot water heater/tank, which could make the problem worse. If the water fails to clear after 10 minutes, wait for a few hours and again try running only the cold water. To learn more about discoloured water, visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water. We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause. For the safety of work crews and residents, please observe social/physical distancing requirements (2 metres of separation).

Due to the recent provincial updates for Covid-19 and the community spread we are going to put a pause on the clothing donations coming in. At the current time ...we’ve filled our storage space, and will not be hauling clothing out to the truck till we know more or the community spread stops. At the same time if someone is desperately in need of some warm clothing, tent, sleeping bag please ask one of the volunteers and we will gather what you need in the size requested. Once a clothing item is tried on we have to steam clean it and hang it up for another week. Thanks to everyone for understanding and we look forward to a time when we can run smoothly again!
