Took a few months.... A constitutional challenge I’m finding is a little more complex than a simple court appearance. What ever it takes. It’s not about safety,... it’s about the continual erosion of our rights. That’s the fight. Update: After two traffic court appearances my case was considered and elevated to a higher court. Protocol at this level is a little more complex but I'm a quick study. I was in court yesterday to request a trial date. I have a pretrial date later this month and a final trial date at the end of May. Basic argument is as follows: Section 107 of the Alberta Vehicle Equipment Regulation is discriminatory in that it excludes me from having equal benefit (the choice not to wear a safety helmet). Given I met the requirement of item (b) of section 107(3) (b) wears a turban, the only logical conclusion one can draw is that I did not meet the requirement of item (a) is a bona fide member of the Sikh religion, because I am of the protestant religion. As such, this law is directly discriminating against me due to my religion. These factors also erode my dignity by granting those of Sikh religion special privilege under the law but no one else. 107(3) places all those not of Sikh religion in a lower class of status, that of less privilege. Constitutional Principles: The Constitution Act, 1982 - Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms 52. (1) The Constitution of Canada is the supreme law of Canada, and any law [provincial or federal] that is inconsistent with the provisions of the Constitution is, to the extent of the inconsistency, of no force or effect. 15. (1) Every individual is equal before the and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age, or mental or physical disability. I'll be seeking that section 107 be deemed of no force or effect. I keep getting asked where my lawyer is to which I always reply that a man shouldn't need a lawyer to argue a 150 dollar traffic ticket. The court clerks, procecutors and police have all been very helpful and have provided guidenace in procedure and protocol. That said, if anyone is aware of any case law that applies here, I'd love to hear it.

Here is a cool "Before And After" shot! This is my headstall. I was wanting darker tack so I put my headstall and slobber straps in the sun for a couple days after washing with Fiebing's Saddle Soap, good quality leather naturally darkens "tans" in the sunlight! Then I applied a couple coats of oil and conditioned all my leather with Skidmore's Leather Cream and did the rawhide with Ray Holes Vaquero Rawhide Cream. What a difference! Softer better feeling leather and looks great!

Have you tried Ray Holes Dri-Boot yet? We love this product! We have done our cowboy boots and watched the water just fall off instead of absorb in. Before the wish ride Dacey did his buffalo leather chinks and the difference is incredible. He applied the Dri-Boot, then took my hair dryer and heated the chinks until the product really sets in. The feel of the leather after was quite a difference, and it rained a bunch on the wish ride and was cool to watch the water just repel off!
