Hello everyone! We're happy to announce that we're launching an Early Access version of the game! It will be available on October 2nd. On launch, the Early Acce...ss version will contain ONE chapter out of FOUR in total, which represents from 4 to 6 hours of gameplay (approximately 20 hours of gameplay on Full Release). We consider the Early Access version to be a great game ON ITS OWN, and it's part of the reasons why we've decided to make it happen. Add the game to your wishlist on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/594330/Visage/ For more information, head up to our Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com//visage-horror-g/posts/2298163 Y'all have a great day!

Hello there, Visage fans, Today we wanted to talk about the real horror (not video games or movies) happening right now in Canada. Some of you might already know this, but in Alberta, Canada, whole cities are burning by the hand of an uncontrollable fire that started this week.... We won't go into details, but google the news and you'll see how terrible this is. Consider donating, like we did, to the Canadian Red Cross that work their head off to help the people that lost their homes and belongings by clicking on the link below. Thank you for your support for Visage and for taking the time to read this pledge.

Hey guys! We missed a week of horror throwback Thursday, but we're here now. This time around, we're not going to post our thoughts on good ol' horror games. We want to hear from you! We'd really like to know what are the horror games that made you go "mom, check under my bed please for me please". ... What are the horror games that you liked most? Post them in the comments and let us hear your thoughts about them! On that, I'm leaving you off with this wonderful compilation of joy and love from Very Alive Space 2, in case you want to entertain yourselves while waiting for Visage.

SadSquare Studio 08.02.2020

Friday-night movies people! This time, we're going with Let Me In (2010). Yay, vampires again :D. >> Jonathan V. says:... "A horror movie, not that horrifying, but damn thrilling. It shows an interesting perspective of dealing with a vampire that doesn't want to hurt you, but still need to feed itself. The direction of the movie, is really effective, yet simple, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I find movies with little or no dialogue pretty interesting, and Let Me In enters that category. Overall, it's a great movie to watch, simple as that." -- What about you? Would you enjoy having a vampire friend? I just wouldn't want to play games with that friend, in case he/she's a sore loser. @.@

SadSquare Studio 25.01.2020

Howdy! We've posted some new screenshots on the Visage's page. Go take a look and like the page if you want to be kept up to date on in-game material ;). Well we best be off, cheerio!

SadSquare Studio 14.01.2020

Hi there, wonderful people! It's Throwback Thursday horror full throttle! This time, Jonathan Gagné picks a modern indie game: Layers of Fear, a game that was awaited by many horror fans. LOF is a psychological horror game, and the genre really suits the game. You find yourself in a every-changing house that torments your mind in especially troubling way.... >> Jonathan says: "LOF was a wonderful game full of promises, and it delivered. It's really great. Great storytelling, very creative and entertaining, but there's one big hiccup, you can resume the game with this: 1. Go forward 2. Turn around, and surprise! The room changed. 3. Repeat. I really wish they'd innovate on gameplay features, instead of using the same tricks over and over. It's still worth a buy, in my opinion" --- What about you, did you play/like Layer Of Fear? Do you feel like redecorating with flowers instead of paintings?

SadSquare Studio 25.12.2019

It's that time again. This time for the Friday-night movie pick, we've got Shutter (2004), the Japanese version. We like Japanese horror, okay?! Picked by Jonathan Gagné, this movie is about guilt, and it's god damn scary. Being horror fans and all, I'm sure you've all once or twice took a look at "haunted pictures". It probably haunted you for days, and every time you look at a shady picture now, you can't help but imagine a ghost standing behind you or gazing through the wi...ndow. Well, you'll find plenty of these in Shutter, and that's really good stuff. >> Jonathan says: "If you ever feel like you're weighting more than you should for no apparent reason, seriously, just spend the rest of your life in a church and pray for redemption." --- Even seen Shutter? Did you like it, did you shit in your pants, or did you laugh at the end hysterically? (no spoilers, pl0x, people)

SadSquare Studio 05.12.2019

It’s our first Friday-night movie pick since the Visage Kickstarter ended, Visage fans. We feel like celebrating, so we’re going less serious today and bringing you a horror comedy. :D Today’s pick, chosen by Victoria, is What We Do in the Shadows, the 2014 vampire mockumentary co-written and co-directed by Jemaine Clement of Flight of the Conchords. This movie was actually also a Kickstarter project, raising funds for a U.S.-wide release. (You can see the archived campaign h...ere: http://kck.st/1wcHu4c) >> Victoria says: Interview with a Vampire meets Spinal Tap. For fans of Christopher Guest or Flight of the Conchords or haters of Twilight. It’s hard to be a modern-day vampire when you’ve had the same roommates for the last 300 years and you don’t have Internet access since you’re shut up in a coffin all day when Internet providers make setup appointments. Also, vampires vs. witches and zombies at an Unholy prom, and the ultimate vampire-werewolf showdown. They’re werewolves, not swearwolves, people! ----- Have you seen What We Do in the Shadows, Visage fans? What did you think? How much of a pain would it be to room with the same people for a century or more?

SadSquare Studio 01.12.2019

It’s that time again, Visage fans, for our Throwback Thursday horror highlight! For this week’s #TBT horror game, we bring you one of Peter’s Picks, chosen by Peter Wicher, the composer for Visage: Siren (also known as Forbidden Siren outside of the U.S.), the survival horror game published by Sony in 2003 for PlayStation 2. >> Peter says:... Yes, I know, the gameplay is broken, the story is weird and fragmented, and the frustration level well, let’s just say it’s astronomical. But Siren is still a game I love dearly. Some of the graphical elements like actual human faces being ‘projected’ on to the character models and the wild film grain effects work in favor of creepy atmosphere. You can just feel the Team Silent influence in this game, and it’s just another reminder of how amazing the Silent Hill series could have been, had evil corporations not gotten in the way of art. But that voice acting though . ----- How about you, Visage fans? Have you played Siren? What did you think of the story and the gameplay?

SadSquare Studio 14.11.2019

For a fun, quick Friday Visage read: Here's a nice Kickstarter wrap-up article by Rob Harris at Moviepilot Horror. Backers have only themselves to blame for th...eir impending psychiatric breakdown. Yes, Visage fans, the Visage horror experience will be all on you. ;)

SadSquare Studio 05.11.2019

The Visage Kickstarter might be over, Visage fans, but Throwback Thursdays motor on! Last week, Peter’s Pick was Silent Hill 4. This week’s #TBT horror game pick, chosen by Jonathan G., is Silent Hill 3, developed and published by Konami in 2003 as a direct sequel, story-wise, to the original Silent Hill. >> Jonathan says:... The SH3 story is sorrowful, abstract, but meaningful and interesting. VERY few horror games will tell stories with that kind of depth. And then there’s the soundtrack and the music. Every single sound that comes out of your speakers while you’re playing this game makes you feel uneasy. In my opinion, the Silent Hill series has the best atmosphere of all horror games. ----- What about you, Visage fans? Where does SH3 rank for you in all the Silent Hill games? Which Silent Hill is your favorite in the series?

SadSquare Studio 21.10.2019

Loyal and wonderful Visage fans, We just wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you for your incredible support for us and for Visage during the Visage Kickstarter campaign. The Kickstarter was a great success. We raised $120K CAD (~$84K USD) almost 350% of our funding goal! from more than 3,200 backers and reached SIX stretch goals.... Thanks to all of you, Visage will be coming to both PC and consoles, featuring VR and multi-language support, and it’ll be a greater and grander game than the smaller-scale vision we thought we’d get to bring to life. We’re hard at work every day here at the studio to make sure that the game we bring you is the creepiest, highest quality horror experience Visage can be. We’ll keep you updated during the whole process, letting you know how development is progressing. Stay tuned here and on our Twitter feed (twitter.com/SadsquareStudio) for new Visage screenshots, trailers, and maybe a mysterious clue or two about the story behind the Visage house . ;) We read all our e-mails, messages, and comments, so if you ever want to get a hold of us, just holler! We’ll be here, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Thank you again, to all of you, for your enthusiasm, encouragement, and support. We couldn’t have done any of this without you. :)

SadSquare Studio 08.10.2019

Visage fans, Even though the Visage Kickstarter is over, there are some other amazing indie games out there waiting to be discovered and that are wildly deserving of support. We encourage you to check out Pinstripe by Atmos Games, a beautiful indie game project we were lucky to discover on Kickstarter and that we’re giving our SadSquare Studio STAMP of Games We Want to Play.... Pinstripe tells the story of an ex-minister who ventures into hell to bring back his kidnapped daughter. With a gorgeous soundtrack and artistic elements reminiscent of Limbo, Year Walk, and Oknytt, Pinstripe is a captivating and unexpected exploration-adventure game that takes you into an underworld far removed from the typical demons and hellfire. Pinstripe is the creation of a true one-man dev team. Thomas Brush, the indie dev that is Atmos Games, has single-handedly crafted the game’s artwork, mechanics, story, and music, making what he’s achieved here all the more impressive. Pinstripe is on Kickstarter, in the final 48 hours of its campaign. It’s already 350% funded and moving through its stretch goals. Check out the Kickstarter video and the gameplay trailer farther down the Kickstarter page. If you’re drawn to this peculiarly lovely and singular world like we are, consider backing Pinstripe and lending your support!

SadSquare Studio 07.09.2019

Let’s celebrate yesterday’s fantastic #10onthe10th rally with a Friday-night movie, shall we, Visage fans? Jonathan G. brings us this week’s pick: the supernatural horror film Dark Water, the original 2002 Japanese version. Both this movie and its 2005 U.S. remake are based on the short story Floating Water by Koji Suzuki, who wrote the novel The Ring, the basis for The Ring movie.... >> Jonathan says: Dark Water isn’t that scary on its own, but when you do some research into the story behind the movie, you really start to question your beliefs. ----- Visage fans, what do you think of Dark Water? Do you like the Japanese or the U.S. version better?
