We are back from summer holidays so Safari Meat shops is open and final batch of fresh Gem squashes has arrived, for sale in the store. Again, no rain cheques, first come first serve. Close to two hundred pounds in stock, but they do go fast.

Safari Meat Shops will be closing at 5pm this Saturday afternoon for a short summer holiday. We will re-open again on Tuesday, August 25 and are expecting to have the last batch of Gem Squashes for the summer on sale then. Stay safe.

SUMMER HOLIDAYS & GEM SQUASHES Safari Meat Shops will be closed from Sunday, August 16 to Monday, August 24 inclusive, for holidays. Other summer good news is that tomorrow, Thursday, we will have close to 100 pounds of Gem Squashes up for sale. They do go fast so no rain cheques, it's first come first serve.

Safari will be closed next week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 29 & 30 June as well as on July 1st known as Canada day. We will re-open on Thursday, July 2nd. A reminder that this Saturday is Vetkoek & mince day at noon. A new load of groceries was delivered this week and a fresh load of Biltong & Droe wors is available from the dryer. Come and join us.

Safari Meat Shops has re-opened it's doors to the public for the first time in just over two months and our shelves are fully stocked with new and fresh groceries and goods. To date we have not adjusted any of our grocery or meat and Biltong prices upwards due to tremendous and continuous support we enjoyed from our customers. We do sanitize our establishment constantly and demand that customers do the same when entering....... And remember, for those not going out of town or going camping this weekend, Vetkoek & mince remains the most popular chow on Saturdays. Do order ahead of time.

Safari Meat Shops has Gem Squash seeds on sale. The seeds are chemically treated and legal in Canada. We and many of our customers have planted them and nursed them through summer to yield a successful small crop for home use and even resold part of the product back to Safari for resale. Interested people should plant now indoors to have strong plants to move outside when summer is here. We do have limited quantities. Planting instructions are on the bag as well as on the net. May we mention, Amazon appears to be sold out and our prices are much lower as we imported the product. Please not that we will be closed on Friday but will be open on Saturday this Easter.

Safari Meat Shops will be serving Vetkoek & mince or Vetkoek & Apricot jam today. There will be no Bunny Chow meals untill further notice. Our store is deemed an essential food store service and has been open to serve the public. However, the store does not allow any public entry, so no other persons touches any product or surfaces in the store other than staff. People turn up at the store with full product display in the window. People then call one of the posted numbers on the door, order, we process payment and place the product and receipts on the table outside. There is no contact and it has been working well for the period thus far. It is advised to call ahead and order to avoid the periodic long ques and waiting outside the store. This way we believe we are all less exposed and still enjoy the good stuff.

Safari Meat Shops has unpacked the last batch of Easter eggs and hen-eggs. Items are fresh and UN-broken this year. Vetkoek & mince is being made and will be ready around noon. Shop closes at 5 as always.

Just an advisory that Safari Meat Shops will again close for a short summer holiday during August 2019. The store will be closed from Sunday, Aug 18 to, (and including) Tuesday, August 27. Reopen on Wednesday, Aug 28.
