While this year has left many of us searching a little harder for silver linings, our blessings truly are all around us. And maybe even a little more meaningful and little more sweet amidst the challenges. We hope you have enjoyed your Thanksgiving long weekend and we want to give thanks for you! Our Harbour friends and supporters. For you, our community. For your care and your generosity for those who’s reality is a daily search for their silver lining. We couldn’t do what we do, without you. Happy Thanksgiving!

We are in need of a new-to-us refrigerator in the shelter. Our current fridge is on its last legs and its shelves struggle to hold the sandwich trays that our Guests look forward to at night. If you happen to be upgrading your appliances or know of someone who is, please contact us! 403-347-0181 or [email protected]

A beautiful Fall season is upon us! As we revel in the beauty of this time of year, we also begin to feel frost sneak in and much cooler temperatures rule the night air. We are already experiencing a high demand for sweaters, hoodies, coats and even gloves. We are also greatly in need of men's pants, especially sizes 32-36, and men's short and long sleeve shirts. If the Fall cleanout bug has hit you, please give us a call at the main office to arrange a donation drop-off time. We cannot accept donations directly to the shelter so please ensure you call first so that we can assist you. 403-347-0181 We thank you for your ongoing generosity!

Today, September 30, marks Orange Shirt Day. Here at Safe Harbour Society, one of the seven stars we steer by is story telling. We are the keepers of countless stories, and among them are the experiences of those who’s families and lives were impacted by the residential school system. A not so distant past that continues to impact the current generation of Indigenous people and will continue to leave a mark on generations to come. We remember every child who was taken from th...eir family and we remember every child who never made it back home. We honour their stories. We honour their experiences. We honour their culture. We wear orange. Human rights are everyone’s right.

If we had one wish at this very moment, this would be it... a downpour of socks!! We have gifted the last of our supply to our Guests but the need remains at an all-time high. We love new socks. We love previously-owned socks that are clean and in good condition. We even love those newly mismatched socks who’s previous mates went missing in the dryer. If you have socks to give that match any of these descriptions, we’d love to give them a new home! If you can donate, please... call 403-347-0181 to leave us a message and we’ll happily get back to you with drop-off information. We thank you for your continued generosity!
