We also donated PPE to the helicopter shore crews aboard Bluewater Adventures vessels #islandroamer #islandsolitude & #islandodyssey. In the first 3 weeks we helped clear almost 60 tones of garbage, styrofoam and fishing debris from the #bccentralcoast . Sad way to start the year for our kind. Only two out of seven were rescued. My Kodiak friend JoAnn described it thusly: "Gary Cobban was Skipper with his son Da...vid. They suspended the search. Weather is so hideous out there. It has been storming for at least 7 days with really high winds. They rolled over, I guess." That's a nasty stretch for NW, that coldest of winds that boils off the Alaska Peninsula from the polar area across the Bering Sea and you ice up so fast nothing can be done for it, especially if your deck is loaded with several hundred crab pots weighing 700+ pounds each.
