Poll on fluoride: bottom left side of page. After you vote NO. Please message or email Bend 91.9 asking them if they think it's ethical for any medicinal treatments to be added to our water no matter what % of people want it. In other words, is it ethical for one percentage of a population to request that everyone be forced to ingest a medicinal treatment that many do not want. People who want to ingest more fluoride than what they & their kids are already ingesting from d...ental products & processed foods/drinks from all the fluoride pesticides & processing with fluoridated water, can ingest fluoride supplements that cost $13/year. Something current data does not recommend. Neurodevelopmental effects of fluoride is one of the most active areas of fluoride research. Pregnant moms are wise to minimize their prenatal child to fluoride exposure require bottle fed babies need minimal exposure to fluoride. Other segments of our population that are wise to minimize exposure to fluoride are people deficient in iodine, suffering from kidney disease, and people pre-disposed to low thyroid function, hardening of connective tissues, weakening of the bones and chronic digestive disorders.

Now that our water is protected from industrial fluoridation chemicals. We need to encourage everyone to write their MLA in support of the Mayor's glyphosate restriction. As for tooth decay, stay tuned to hear about: The best ever "Oral Hygiene - Real Food" mentoring program that will go through the public schools, nursing homes etc., and truly lower tooth decay.... With the help of Dr. Hardy Limeback, head of UofT preventive dentistry for 18 years, we are developing super simple protocols that work when kids & seniors receive them from teachers, personal care attendants etc. For example: -school supplies require a tooth brush & dental floss -1st class teachers ask if any children didn't brush/floss after breakfast, and if so, ask them to go brush/ floss just like they would ask a child to wash their hands if they forgot after going to the bathroom. -same for after lunch teachers -and finally, teachers, extra school curricular activities instructors, social workers etc ... everyone who has contact with parents respectfully provide straightforward clarifications to help parents understand the amounts of sugar in all these processed products misleadingly described as healthy. (Fruit juices , dried fruits, flavoured yogurts, "all natural" granola bars/cereals (no matter how "pure" or "organic) have as much sugar as their counterparts: pop, candy, ice cream, cookies, cakes and need to be seen for what they are....) https://www.safewatermoncton.com/children-sugar Fluoridation aside, WE ALL agree that our kids, well intentioned parents, elders & elder's caregivers NEED the guidance & SUPPORT necessary for Proper Daily Oral Hygiene practices & consuming real food and water. Not to mention, facilitated access to a dentist when they need one. Basic dental care is somehow not part of health care??? Really??? In Scotland where no fluoride is added to water, they have a hugely successful Child Smile programme that does the above. Let's extend ours to include nursing home attendants and senior's at home personal care attendants, and Call It the MONCTON SMILE PROGRAM!!! :) <3 :) <3 :)
