A lot of people have asked about the free app called Nextdoor City Centre that has come to everyone's mail box in letter form. It looks and sounds legitimate, but it is a scam. We recommend you recycle the paper and do not engage.

The City of Kamloops is asking residents to provide feedback on draft action items for its forthcoming road safety plan, which aims to eliminate all road-related fatalities by 2039. Earlier this year, Sagebrush Neighbours were invited to share their lived experiences and stories regarding traffic and road safety in the Neighbourhood. The Neighbourhood Association compiled returns from Facebook and email, and passed back to the contractor our experiences. ... Vision Zero is a traffic safety initiative first implemented in Sweden, recognizing while people make mistakes while travelling on roadways, no one should die or be seriously injured as a result. The city said the transportation system includes streets and intersections, sidewalks, transit stops, bike lanes and crosswalks. The city will be hosting two in-person public engagement events about its Vision Zero strategy on Tuesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 18. Tuesday’s event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre lounge. The event on Wednesday will happen at the Kamloops Yacht Club from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. According to the city, residents will be able to discuss each of the proposed focus areas and action items in depth with the project team. Anyone interested in attending is required to register at the City of Kamloops website. https://letstalk.kamloops.ca/VisionZero Community members can also provide feedback about draft action items through an online survey. https://letstalk.kamloops.ca//kamloops-vision-zero-strateg
