Sage Project 27.01.2021

Hannan has been a volunteer with SAGE since June and has actively participated in Companion Calls at The O’Neill Centre. She joined SAGE to support residents in long-term care and to advocate for their mental health. During her conversations with the residents, she shares her ambitions and her interests with them and has heard all about their past experiences. The residents are always excited to speak with Hannan and are fascinated by what she has to say. In the future, Hannan hopes to continue doing calls with residents and to meet residents in-person once it is safe to do so. We thank Hannan for keeping residents company during the pandemic and for giving back to the elderly community.

Today's delivery was a brand new 27-inch monitor generously donated by Metrix to Lakeside Long-Term Care Centre! This monitor was specifically requested by Lakeside staff for their residents to use for FaceTiming and Skyping their relatives, along with many other recreational activities. We thank Metrix for their donation and hope this new monitor can help further improve the daily life of residents at Lakeside Long-Term Care Centre!

Our first delivery to start off the new year was from Lush Cosmetics North America and Red Bull to Chartwell Woodhaven Long Term Care Residence! As always, we thank our supporters, healthcare workers, and members of the community who continue to do their parts to keep our communities safe. We also thank everyone for the huge influx of support and interest these past few weeks. We are working hard to expand our initiatives and provide opportunities for all volunteers who signed up to participate in our projects in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned for more updates by following our social media or checking our website, sageproject.ca!

We hope everyone has had a safe winter holiday. To start off our new year, we are excited to share our featured memoir with Toronto Life magazine, which highlights SAGE's journey through Rowaida's eyes, as well as some touching moments during our Companion Calls. We thank Toronto Life for giving us this opportunity to continue spreading our message and our mission.
