Hot topic of the weekend . Everyone has been asking if massage therapy will still be allowed when Orangeville moves into the Red Zone on Monday . Heck yes it is! ... . We are still following the directives of Public Health & our regulatory college, the College of Massage Therapists. Our eduction, standards, and protocols are strictly adhered to in order to keep everyone safe! . All appointments are spaced 30 minutes apart to allow for the proper cleaning, sanitizing, and to help reduce the number of people in the office. All surfaces such as doorknobs, seats, coat hooks, and debit machine are cleaned after every appointment. . If you have any questions please feel free to ask! . My schedule is full until January 4th but keep you eye out on my stories for last minute cancellation appointments! See more

Yesterday morning in an interview on CBC, Dr. Williams, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, stated that massage therapy was not allowed in the locked dow...n areas, which was an inaccurate statement. Registered Massage Therapists are able to continue to practice in lockdown regions following the same precautions they followed throughout the course of the pandemic. On a call with the Ministry Emergency Operations Centre this morning, which typically includes Dr. Williams and other senior ministry officials, Michael Feraday, RMTAO Executive Director, pointed out that this comment was inaccurate and misleading, and requested that Dr. Williams provide clarification in the media. A statement will be made by the Government today in the media correcting this misstatement. In addition, the Ministry of Health has confirmed to other media sources and to health regulatory colleges that regulated health professionals are able to continue to operate. Regrettably this has caused confusion with the public and in the profession. The Ministry’s position is that regulated health professions like RMTs and all other 26 regulated health professions continue to provide essential services to their patients. The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario has provided strict guidelines for RMT that ensure safety. The RMTAO is advocating forcefully to ensure that this messaging is understood and reinforced.

This is your reminder to go drink some water Ever since having to wear a mask while working I have been finding myself constantly dehydrated and chugging ALL the water. Am I the only one?! ... Did you know that water can also help boost your energy levels? It can also improve what your muscles feel like - muscles that are dehydrated feel similar to beef jerky (who knew?!). If you struggle with consuming enough water keep reading for tips & tricks on how to increase the amount of water you drink. To help determine the amount of water you should be consuming daily at minimum, is to take half of your body weight (in lbs) and divide it by two! This is the number of ounces of water you should aim to consume throughout your day. For example, if you weight 150lbs you should be drinking 75oz of water daily! Here are a few of my tips to help increase your consumption carry a reusable water bottle everywhere you go (I prefer stainless steel or glass) set a timer or alarm throughout your day to remind you to drink start your day with a large glass of water add things to your water to make it more interesting (berries, mint, lemon, lime, cucumber etc.)

Paperless since November 2018! Weve been able to operate paperless for almost two years! We made the conscious decision to go paperless for all things including: ... * booking appointments * patient charts * intake forms * consent forms * note taking * receipts/invoices ....everything!! We made the choice to help lessen our impact on the world! As well as to allow convenience and ease for all our patients. It also has the benefits to make our practice efficient, space saving, and helps to allow patients to get reimbursed from their insurers quicker - no more having to mail claims in! See more

Soon! As many of you may have heard, with the updated order from Ontarios Chief Medical Officer of Healths Directive #2 for Regulated Health Professionals, RMTs are now permitted to gradually resume services. There will be some changes to how your treatment will be. ... We must comply with the new requirements from the Ministry of Healths COVID-19 Operational Requirements. There are a few changes which includes: - RMTs wearing a new surgical mask during your treatment & while interacting with you. It is also highly recommended that you bring & wear a mask in the clinic (cloth or surgical/medical). -COVID-19 screening questions are to be completed 24hrs before your appointment and prior to entering the clinic. **if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or have come into contact with someone with COVID-19 you will NOT be allowed in the clinic** - Anyone who enters the clinic will have their name & valid phone number recorded on a visitors log, which will still comply with PHIPA. This includes support workers, postal delivery workers, staff, patients, etc. - Patients will be asked to wait in their vehicle for your confirmed appointment until your therapist is ready at which point you will be screened.
