*** EVENT CANCELLED**** Hey sailors - the fall is upon us, but this Saturday, October 10, it looks like it's still summer! OHCC is taking advantage of the nice weather and having one last fun race. This is going to be a distance race - but where, you ask? Part of the fun is not knowing until you show up! All boats are welcome to join - we'll be applying Portsmouth numbers to pick a weiner!... Be at the clubhouse deck at noon - fully rigged and changed - to find out where our PRO is sending us. There will be food and drink after. See you then!

A lovely day for the annual Oktoberfest regatta - 4-8 knots, sunny, and a lot of food and beer afterwards. Thanks again to our volunteers, John and Alistair for being PRO, Frank and Steve for moving marks all day, David for getting the cutlery, Peter for the beer, and Bernie and Simone for all the food. We had a bunch of albacores, contenders, 505s, and wayfarers.

ATTENTION MEMBERS!! In a shocking turn of events (or not), we've now been informed that the old school gates that were installed on Regatta Road near Unwin will be locked starting tomorrow afternoon (Friday, September 4) with the city intending to keep them locked 24/7. No, you are not losing your mind - this was NOT the original plan laid out to us and the OHSF was not consulted on this change. That said, we are at the mercy of the City, so we kind of have to roll with the p...unches. OHCC has a lock box on a post just north of the gate on the west side, with the combo for this box being sent out today via the usual club email blast. Get in contact if you don't get the email. Please replace the key in the lock box after use so it will be available for the next club member's use and keep the gate locked. This is really all the information your exec members have, so please think twice before you direct any concerns.
