Transgender Day of Remembrance: What is Transgender Day of Remembrance? This annual event is celebrated November 20th every year. Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) was started in 1999 by transgender advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith as a vigil to honor the memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was killed in 1998. The vigil commemorated all the transgender people lost to violence since Rita Hester's death, and began an important tradition that has become the annual Tra...nsgender Day of Remembrance. "Transgender Day of Remembrance seeks to highlight the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence. I am no stranger to the need to fight for our rights, and the right to simply exist is first and foremost. With so many seeking to erase transgender people -- sometimes in the most brutal ways possible -- it is vitally important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice." - Transgender Day of Remembrance founder Gwendolyn Ann Smith

The Binner Chronicles Late this summer my friend Brad and I sat, socially distancing, in my carport while he read me the first chapter of his four-part series of Ebooks called, The Binner Chronicles. I had forgotten how nice it is to be read to while relaxing with a cup of tea. He read me chapter one from the first book in the series and I found it to be well-written and left me, the listener, eager to hear more. The Binner Chronicles follows the tale of Andie Butler, a you...ng girl with a special gift inherited from her mother. An unexpected turn of events sends Andie in search of her mother, who mysteriously disappeared when Andie was two. Ultimately, The Binner Chronicles is a rich story about two mothers and two children, and how their lives are inextricably woven together by fate. It is a story about love and loss, the unintended consequences of choice, confronting our flaws, the need for unconditional love and understanding in an uncaring world, and ultimately, the search for truth. As the writer of the books, Brad asked I made sure to include the following information to pass along. The books come with a ‘heads-up’ of Strong Language, Adult Situations and Graphic Sexual Content. Having read a lot due to Covid, that description seem to fit lot of writings these days. If this has piqued your interest, the books can be found for sale on Amazon.ca. Search for The Binner Chronicles by BH Wilson. The first book in the series is entitled Andie and sets the story in motion. Note: It is a KIndle Ebook, so you will need either a Kindle E reader or the Kindle app on your phone or tablet to read the books. The Kindle app is available for free at the Google Play store.
