Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I write to you from our College of Bishops meeting, and like many of you I am deeply concerned about the unrest in the Unit...ed States Capitol today. Proverbs 14:34 Please join me in praying for the United States of America: Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage: We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favor and glad to do thy will. Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure conduct. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. It's with heavy hearts that we announce, the Toys for Tots Drive Thru that was scheduled to take place on November 27th at the Clarion Hotel’s parking lot, has ...been cancelled. While the event is cancelled the need still remains. Clarion Hotel will continue to collect toys, as well as 8 other locations across Abbotsford until November 27th. The latest announcement from Dr. Bonnie Henry left us no choice but to cancel the event. We all need to do our part to fight the spread of COVID-19 in our community. By doing our part, we keep the hope alive that everyone can have a safe Christmas. The reality is that the Abbotsford Christmas Bureau provides gifts and food to over 1,500 children at Christmas. With the cancellation of this event, we’re not quite sure what we will do. And while the drive thru event is officially cancelled, Archway Food Bank will continue to accept any donations through the Toys for Tots website. Thank you to everyone who had planned to come, and to those who still plan to donate a new toy for a child. We hope to see you all in person - next year!

YOUTH SUNDAY CLASS // God Calls a Prophet: Like Samuel in todays lesson, we must be prepared to believe the Word of God in whatever it says. Whether the issues concern greed, the sanctity of human life, drunkenness, covetousness, pride, or any kind of immorality, God never apologizes for speaking truth, and neither should we. But just as the heart of God is good and patient and kind, so should the tone of our message be expressed in love. Our task is to humbly love people with the truth, not stand in judgment over them.

YOUTH SUNDAY CLASS // The Wisdom of a Deliverer: In todays passage we see Deborahs wisdom and prophecy and Baraks military leadership on display, but neither of them took credit for themselves. Instead, they ended up singing a song that gave God the glory after they won a military victory which was stacked against them. Like them, our songs of worship should also be sacrifices of praise to the Lord.
