After taking a few weeks to adjust to mommy life I’m back at it, restocking the website and wholesalers. During this period of time I’ve been quiet on social media. Ive been soaking up all the baby cuddles, sneaking in naps when possible and enjoying watching my little baby boy grow.I have such an appreciation for all the mamas out there, the amazing women who manage to juggle it all and make it look easy! On a positive note, the sun is shining in the Okanagan, and it feels like Spring is around the corner!

Guard your energy and your thoughts. Over the weekend I found myself reading and listening to WAY too many negative articles focusing on lack. Truthfully, I was even worried about going to the gym! If I wasn't pregnant, I probably would've just went, but they say when you're pregnant your immune system is altered. I called my Dad up (who has always been a big advocate of excerise and moving your body) and asked him if he thought it was too risky. He reminded me that during a ...time like this, it is vital to keep our mind and bodies healthy. I went to the gym. It was quiet but still a handful of people enjoying a workout. During my workout I was able to clear my mind and shake that gripping fear. I reminded myself to focus on good health. Health is always number one. Without it, nothing works. Good health has many avenues and I believe it's a balance of muiltple habits all working together. This is my personal approach and every BODY is different. Below are a few habits I like to practice to maintain good health. I encourage you to share some of your successful health practices below. It might help someone else! This is what I find myself fousing on. Take care of your mind. Fill your mind with graditude, support and help one another. It's good for your soul. Eat healthy and fuel your physical body with nutrition. (Your grocery store might be sold out of canned goods but try the produce section!) Give your body everything it needs to build a strong immune system. Drink water, and stay hydatred. (Your skin will love you!!) If you're tired, rest. Listen to your body, it will tell you what it needs. Practice good hygiene and self care. Take a bath or a warm shower. Wash your hands. Move! Yoga, biking, hiking. Whatever you enjoy, treat your body to movement. Fill your lungs with fresh air. Our bodies are powerful. Given the right tools they are designed to protect us, heal us and provide us with everything we need. Don't be fearful or scared. Focus on good health and everything else will fall into place. It's so strange how things come full circle. Five years ago I worked as the Spa manager for the Delta Grand hotel. While it taught me many lessons, I knew it wasn't my forever career. I remember sitting in my office, daydreaming about owning my own skincare company. June 2014, I left my job and its "security" at the Delta to pursue my dream. Fast forward to this weekend and I'll be setting up SkinSmart @okanaganyogafestival hosted at the Delta Grand. While I still have big dreams for SkinSmart, I'll take this time to reflect and be thankful for the journey it has taken me on.
