Our present is a reflection of everything from the start. Here’s mine. Chapter 1: My Dadaji My story always has and will start with honouring my elders..., those who remain, and those who passed on. The string of our family though is Dr. P.L. Khanna, my Dad’s dad, my grandfather. Husband of beautiful Kanta Khanna, father of Vinu, Praveen, & Madhu. Dadaji taught us to be brave and endearing. He taught us about the scriptures and science, from Bhagavad Gita to Ayurveda. He taught us yoga off the mat, yoga as a living, breathing philosophy He was a believer & proponent of Arya Samaj. A surgeon, and a spiritual man. I was given this knowledge so freely that in the beginning it didn’t mean as much as it does to me today. It was only when I moved to Canada and did my first Yoga Teacher Training in 2019, a thread of understanding began to spin, giving me a direction & sense of my life story. I do not believe that any of this is a coincidence or happening without the guidance of my ancestors. I thank them everyday, from dadaji I built a bridge to those before, and many after- knowing that we are all a symphony of unity, or oneness. For me it starts with him and I honour Dadaji and Dadima everyday. I stumbled upon a sound therapy training to taking place in New York. And somehow, last minute, I was able to make it there. In February 2020 I was immersed... in Sound with 12 other beautiful souls. We received three sound baths a day, performed daily cacao ceremony, and learnt all about working with sound, voice, and other healing frequencies. 100hrs & what feels like an era of holistic sound training later I returned to Toronto transformed. In my time during the training I learned about intention and had the privilege to be around powerful instruments such as the Gong. I felt the energy of its presence, unstuck energy is energy too, it’s energy in potential. Now I deliver sound baths in Toronto. Modalities I use to initiate and channel participants inner healing capabilities include : Sound, Cacao, Asana, Pranayama, Mantra Chanting, & Guided Meditation. I find different combinations of these modalities to be beneficial for achieving positive body/mind/spirit outcomes. #abcdyogitakeover #abcdyogifamily #abcdyogitoronto #abcdyogicanada #abcdyogisakshi #abcdyogi #desiabcdyogi #yogateacheryogi #pranayamayogi #nadayogi #nidrayogi #vedichealingyogi #cacaoyogi See more

Finding my unchanging, limitless reality. A leap of faith leading to Vedic & Sound Healing. One day in November of 2019, I was teaching a yoga class and duri...ng meditation I had my palms open versus the usual gyan mudra that I usually do. I noticed my hands became super warm, almost hot, and I felt like a blaze of energy moving through me. It didn’t freak me out because I remembered my Dadima had a healing touch, and she used to help my Dadaji during the war camp for administering injections to patients. And my Dadaji’s mom was a very spiritual lady she prayed everyday for hours and performed various ceremonies to invoke positive energies. So finished and dusted my class and moved on. This happened a couple of time’s again, so this time I turned my hands to the class hoping to share the energy, whatever it was, I had no sense of it. And surprisingly so people came to me after class and asked what did you do? I would’ve scared myself if I thought of this as anything other than our own innate ability, present in all of us, though maybe not always tapped in all us. I kept doing my thing and the feedback was great, people enjoyed the classes and left calmer/ balanced then they came. I intuitively kept tapping into what I still think are messages from my ancestors. I have a line of spiritual women in my family, with healing hands and years of sadhana behind them. Just like I discovered sound, both external and internal (voice / mantras). And one day I accidentally stumbled upon sound therapy training in NYC..... I went to the Yoga teacher training studio early in 2019 to see if I might be eligible (or flexible enough) to do yoga teacher training. It’s something I’ve wan...ted to do ever since I first visited Sivananda ashram in Kerala in 2011, but never got around to. I wanted to a YTT for jumpstarting my own yoga practice, and becoming mote active in general. Soon after I completed my training I started taking community classes. When you teach you learn it twice, I was transforming in more ways than I could imagine. Since April 2019 I’ve taken over 200 hours of training and taught over 1000 hours of classes. With the aim to find ultimate meditation and be in the fourth state or turiya, I continue to learn and grow. Yoga opened has opened up dimensions I never imagined were possible for me before. Things still happen, feelings still arise, but I am able to detach from the temporary vrittis or waves of the mind. The term Yoga is more diverse than I thought I knew, I have learnt that yoga is not a set of poses but a full-breathing philosophy. Yoga means union, and yoga can be achieved through several paths (followed on their own or as a mixture). I am learning yoga philosophy, reading the scriptures, and next year I will deliver workshops, because when you teach you learn it twice. #abcdyogitakeover #abcdyogifamily #abcdyogitoronto #abcdyogicanada #abcdyogisakshi #abcdyogi #desiabcdyogi #yogateacheryogi #pranayamayogi #nadayogi #nidrayogi #vedichealingyogi #cacaoyogi See more

Moving to Canada & finding meaning. Around three years ago, my husband @aklush and I packed our bags and moved half way around the world. There are so many ...reasons why we came, in the end it was because this was our only choice. In situations of survival one thrives on change, so we changed. With bouts of ups and downs, it wasn’t an easy journey for either of us. For me to be so far away from my parents, without much choice, we had to make the best of what we had at hand. In my time here, I’ve had my tryst with inexplicable lows, and feelings of being so alone in a new country it would make me helpless. I have travelled to more than 32 countries, bag-packed alone many times, but this was new, I was actually living away from the psychological comfort of being a 15-min drive from my parents. God bless FaceTime I had to travel all those miles to find that I was whole & complete all along. Being away has helped me appreciate and connect at levels I took for granted when I was around. It’s a huge price we paid to be away, I wish it didn’t have to be this way. But I am more spiritual and balanced now than I ever was. #abcdyogitakeover #abcdyogifamily #abcdyogitoronto #abcdyogicanada #abcdyogisakshi #abcdyogi #desiabcdyogi #yogateacheryogi #pranayamayogi #nadayogi #nidrayogi #vedichealingyogi #cacaoyogi See more
