It is with sadness, disbelief and anger that we have been ordered by the Provincial Government to close our doors, yet again. It feels frustrating and upsetting that even with all of our efforts to ensure our guests safety, including temperature screening and increased sanitation and staffing, we are not allowed to host and serve you for the next month. To our brides and families that will have to cancel or postpone their weddings and celebrations yet again, our hearts are br...eaking for you. No one wanted to celebrate your life’s monumental moments more than us. It’s baffling that even though our Ottawa case numbers are low we are being punished when there is no evidence to support covid infections after dining out. Even with all of our efforts to pivot and find innovative solutions to continue serving you and the community, our revenue is down by 90%. Many small businesses are barely hanging on by a thread, and for most, this lockdown will be the straw that breaks the camel's back. It’s scary and disheartening to see all of the ‘for lease’ signs already in the shop windows on Preston St. where once thriving businesses used to be. Small local businesses and the families behind them have been the pillar of this community for generations. And so we must ask of you again, please continue to support local small businesses. Whatever you can do, it makes a difference. . You can support us and other restaurants during this closure by ordering take out. We want to get our food to you in as many convenient ways as we can, but many people don't realize that picking up your food directly, instead of using delivery apps, helps put more money into the restaurant owners pockets, and your support goes much further. Plus, we love to see your face, even behind the mask. You can also purchase gift cards and gift certificates. Knowing that we have your support and will see you back again upon reopening means the world us.
